WWE Basics
WWE is a professional wrestling promotion based out of Stamford, Connecticut. WWE SmackDown is one of WWE’s two main television programs (the other being WWE Raw). WWE SmackDown is currently broadcast live on Tuesday nights on the USA Network. The show features a mix of professional wrestling matches, backstage interviews, and occasional comedy sketches.
What is WWE?
WWE is abbreviation for World Wrestling Entertainment. It is an American publicly traded, privately controlled entertainment company that deals primarily in professional wrestling, with major revenue sources also coming from film, music, product licensing, and direct product sales. WWE also refers to the professional wrestling promotion itself, founded by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt in 1952 as Capitol Wrestling Corporation Ltd. As of 2019, it is the largest wrestling promotion in the world, holding over 500 events a year (with the vast majority of them being broadcast live), and broadcasting to about 36 million viewers in more than 150 countries. The company’s headquarters are located in Stamford, Connecticut, with offices in major cities across the world.
What are the different WWE shows?
WWE has four major programs that air on television each week. They are “RAW,” “SmackDown Live,” “NXT,” and “205 Live.”
“RAW” is WWE’s flagship program and airs live on Monday nights on the USA Network. “SmackDown Live” airs live on Tuesday nights on the USA Network. “NXT” is WWE’s developmental brand and airs live Wednesday nights on the WWE Network. “205 Live” is WWE’s cruiserweight-exclusive program and airs live after “NXT” on the WWE Network.

Who won on WWE Raw?
Sasha Banks and Bayley will face off for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35. The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection are the reigning champs, but they’ll have their work cut out for them against The IIconics.
Plus, Kurt Angle will wrestle his final match ever against Baron Corbin. It’s sure to be an emotional night for the Olympic gold medalist, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
And don’t miss Becky Lynch putting her Raw Women’s Championship on the line against Lacey Evans. The Lady of WWE has been waiting a long time for this opportunity, and she’s not about to let it slip through her fingers.
Who won on WWE SmackDown?
The Phenomenal One A.J. Styles recaptured the WWE Championship from The Miz in the main event of WWE SmackDown, thanks to an assist from former titleholder Jinder Mahal.
Earlier in the night, The Bludgeon Brothers destroyed The New Day and laid waste to any team that dared challenge them, sending a message to SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos that their rematch at WWE Extreme Rules will be far from a cakewalk.
WWE Highlights
This week’s WWE was full of surprises. We saw Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar go at it in a no holds barred match. Roman Reigns defeated Samoa Joe to become the new number one contender for the Universal Championship. And in the main event, Ronda Rousey made short work of Nia Jax to retain her Raw Women’s Championship.

What were the top WWE SmackDown moments?
WWE SmackDown closed out 2020 with a special holiday edition featuring some huge moments.
First, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt finally got his hands on Randy Orton in a very personal and brutal match. Then, in a show-stealing performance, “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns defeated Kevin Owens in a brutal steel cage match to keep his WWE Universal Championship reign alive.
And finally, after months of buildup, “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles finally faced off against “The Head of theTable” Mandy Rose in a Tables Match with Styles’ spot on Team SmackDown at the Survivor Series pay-per-view on the line.
