Patriots vs. Bills
Sunday’s game between the Patriots and the Bills was a rematch of last year’s AFC Wild Card game. The Patriots won that game, but the Bills had a much different team this year. Sunday’s game was a close one, with the Patriots winning by a score of 24-17.
New England’s offense struggles in win
New England’s offense struggled for much of the game, but the Patriots were able to come away with a 24-17 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Tom Brady threw for just 126 yards and two interceptions, but the Patriots’ defense came up big when it mattered most. New England forced four turnovers, including two interceptions of Bills quarterback Josh Allen, to help seal the victory.
The Patriots improved to 7-2 on the season with the win, while the Bills fell to 6-3.
Buffalo’s defense holds strong
The Bills’ defense had a big day, sacking Patriots quarterback Tom Brady five times and forcing two turnovers. Buffalo’s offense also got going in the second half, scoring 17 points to help the team pull away for the win.
Packers vs. Lions
I’m sure many of you are wondering who won Sunday’s NFL games. The Packers and the Lions were both victorious. The final score for the Packers vs. Lions game was 24-20.
Green Bay’s offense dominates in win
The Packers got back on track Sunday, winning 31-17 against the Detroit Lions. It wasn’t always pretty, but Green Bay’s offense finally put together a complete performance.
Aaron Rodgers was his usual self, passing for 283 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for a score. But it was the Packers’ run game that did the most damage, as Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams combined for 189 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
The Packers’ defense also played well, holding the Lions to just 17 points. They gave up some yards, but they made big stops when they needed to.
It was a complete team win for the Packers, and they’ll now turn their attention to next week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Detroit’s defense struggles
Detroit’s defense struggled Sunday against Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who passed for four touchdowns in a 31-23 win at Lambeau Field.
The Lions gave up touchdown passes of 75, 36 and 10 yards in the first half, and Rodgers also ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Rodgers finished 21 of 32 for 253 yards, with one interception.
The Lions’ offense also had trouble stringing together drives, and the Packers led 24-9 at halftime.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Jones Jr. in the third quarter, but the Packers responded with a field goal to make it 27-16.
The Lions scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter, but Rodgers connected with Davante Adams for a 58-yard gain that set up Mason Crosby’s 23-yard field goal to seal the win.
Texans vs. Jaguars
The Houston Texans entered their Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars as slight favorites. The Texans were coming off a Week 1 win against the New England Patriots, while the Jaguars were coming off a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Texans were able to squeak out a victory against the Jaguars, winning by a final score of 13-12.
Houston’s offense too much for Jacksonville
In a battle of two struggling teams, it was the Houston Texans that came out on top, defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-14. The Texans were led by quarterback Deshaun Watson, who threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for a touchdown. Watson was aided by a strong performance from running back Carlos Hyde, who had 160 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The Texans’ defense also forced three turnovers, including two interceptions of Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew.
Jaguars’ defense can’t keep up
Coming off a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Jacksonville Jaguars had high hopes of getting back on track against the Houston Texans. But it was not to be, as the Texans ran away with a 27-17 victory.
The Jaguars’ defense, which had looked so good in recent weeks, was unable to slow down Houston’s offense. Deshaun Watson threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for a score. Watson’s favorite target was wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who had eight catches for 111 yards and a touchdown.
The Jaguars’ offense struggled throughout the game. Quarterback Blake Bortles threw two interceptions, and the team only managed one touchdown in the second half. Running back Leonard Fournette had a decent game, rushing for 53 yards and a touchdown, but he also lost a fumble.
With the loss, the Jaguars fall to 4-8 on the season. They will next take on the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night.
