Rafael Nadal of Spain won the Australian Open men’s singles title on Sunday, defeating Croatia’s Marin Cilic in straight sets. Nadal, who is ranked No. 1 in the world, won 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 to claim his third Australian Open title.

Rafael Nadal has a long and impressive tennis career, winning many Grand Slam titles. He first came to prominence in 2004, when he won the French Open at the age of 19. Wawrinka’s breakthrough came at the 2005 Wimbledon Championships when he reached the third round of a Grand Slam event for the first time in his career by defeating Benjamin Becker before losing to eventual champion Roger Federer in five sets.
