Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Greek professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is the Bucks’ leading scorer and rebounder, and is also the NBA’s leading scorer. Antetokounmpo was named the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2017–18 season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had a remarkable regular season, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to the best record in the NBA while averaging 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. He became just the sixth player in NBA history to finish in the top 20 in all three categories, joining LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson.

Playoffs

In the playoffs, Antetokounmpo helped the Bucks defeat the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the playoffs in seven games. He averaged 27.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game in the series. In Game 1 of the second round, he scored 30 points and shot 13-for-23 from the field as the Bucks defeated the Boston Celtics 120–106. In Game 4, he scored 42 points, his then career-high in the playoffs, as Milwaukee evened the series 2–2 with a 116–92 win. The Bucks went on to lose the series in seven games after Boston’s 112–96 victory in Game 7. For his playoff performances, Antetokounmpo was named to the All-NBA Second Team.

James Harden

On June 25, 2018, the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced that James Harden had won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2017-2018 season. This is the first time that Harden has won the MVP award.

The 2017–18 NBA season was the 72nd season of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The regular season began on October 17, 2017, earlier than previous seasons to reduce the number of “back-to-back” games teams were scheduled to play, with the 2017 Western Conference Finals ending in June. The 2018 NBA All-Star Game was played on February 18, 2018, at Staples Center in Los Angeles. LeBron James was named as the All-Star Game MVP. The regular season ended on April 11, 2018. The playoffs began four days later on April 15.

The Houston Rockets clinched the best record in the league for the first time since 1994–95 with a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on April 10. They ended up winning a franchise record 65 games and secured the top seed in the Western Conference.

On June 25, 2018, LeBron James was named the Most Valuable Player of the NBA for the 2017-18 season. He became the first player in NBA history to win the award with four different teams. James is also the only player to have won the award in three consecutive seasons.

LeBron James led the league in scoring, averaged a career-high 10.2 assists and shot 54.2 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from three-point range as the Cavaliers went 50-32 to earn the No. 4 seed in the NBA playoffs. He also became the seventh player in NBA history to reach 30,000 career points.

The playoffs began on April 14, 2018, and ended on June 8, 2018, after each conference’s finals. The postseason included four rounds of best-of-seven playoff series. The champions of the Eastern and Western Conferences met in the NBA Finals, which was also best-of-seven.

The playoffs began on April 14, 2018, and ended on June 8 with the Golden State Warriors winning their second consecutive and third overall NBA championship, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games for a 3–0 series sweep in the Finals. Golden State’s Kevin Durant was named the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP), averaging 28.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game for the series.

This was Golden State’s fourth consecutive appearance in the NBA Finals since 2015, becoming just the third team in NBA history to achieve this feat (joining the 1952–1955 Minneapolis Lakers and the 1988–1991 Detroit Pistons).[1] It was also Cleveland’s fourth straight trip to the Finals, marking the first time any Eastern Conference team had made it to four consecutive NBA Finals since Paul Pierce’s Boston teams did so between 2008 and 2011; furthermore, this was also only the second time that two teams had met in four consecutive Finals, after 1948 and 1949 when Joeforum’s Washington Capitols met Minneapolis in back-to-back championship series.

Damian Lillard had an outstanding season and was one of the best players in the NBA. He led the Trail Blazers to the playoffs and was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player. Lillard is a great player and an even better person. He is a role model for young people and an inspiration to everyone.

Regular Season

The Portland Trail Blazers star point guard became the first player in NBA history to make a game-winning shot in the fourth quarter or overtime in four straight games, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Lillard’s impressive run started on Monday, when he hit a step-back 3-pointer over Paul George to give the Blazers a 115-114 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He followed that up two days later with another game-winning 3, this time against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

On Friday, Lillard outdid himself, hitting an incredible 37-footer at the buzzer to give Portland a 118-115 win over the Houston Rockets. And he capped it off on Sunday with yet another game-winner, drilling a 30-footer as time expired to hand the Blazers a 128-126 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

In addition to his heroics, Lillard averaged 28.6 points, 6.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game during Portland’s four-game winning streak.

Playoffs

In the playoffs, Lillard averaged 28.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game, shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three-point range. He scored at least 30 points in nine of his first 11 playoff games, becoming the first player in NBA history to do so. Lillard’s scoring outburst helped the Blazers overcome a 0–2 deficit in their first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder; he became the first player in NBA history to have multiple series-clinching buzzer-beaters in a single postseason. Lillard’s 51-point performance in Game 5 was a franchise playoff record, and he also set Portland’s single-game playoff scoring record with 59 points in Game 1 of the second round against the Denver Nuggets. For his efforts, he was named the Western Conference Player of the Week four times, becoming just the second player in NBA history to do so in a single postseason (joining LeBron James).
