Introduction
The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a professional men’s basketball league in North America, founded in 1946. The league’s headquarters are in the Olympic Tower at 645 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, while its operations center is inSecaucus, New Jersey. It currently consists of 30 teams; 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada. Headquartered in New York City, the NBA is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. The league was founded on June 6, 1946, as the Basketball Association of America (BAA). The BAA was formed by representatives of 13 American basketball teams from across the country. At that time, three of those teams were from New York City: The Knickerbocker Weissemen, The Orioles and the Cavaliers. After nine years as the BAA, it renamed itself to National Basketball Association on August 3, 1949 following Merge with its rival National Basketball League (NBL).

3.2 The second quarter
The second quarter began with the score tied at 23. The Celtics quickly took the lead and extended it to 6 points, but the Lakers clawed their way back and tied the game at 31 with just over 6 minutes left in the half. The Celtics then went on a 9-2 run to take a 40-33 lead with 3:30 left in the half. The Lakers closed the gap to 3 points, but the Celtics ended the quarter strong and took a 48-42 lead into halftime.
3.3 The third quarter
In the third quarter, the Trail Blazers outscored the Rockets 32-23. Damian Lillard had 10 points in the quarter, including a go-ahead three-pointer with just over a minute left in the quarter. CJ McCollum also added nine points in the quarter. For the Rockets, Harden had eight points and Gordon added six points.
