The NBA Finals was the championship series of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) 2018–19 season and conclusion of the season’s playoffs. In the best-of-seven playoff series held from May 30 to June 13, the Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors defeated the Eastern Conference champion Toronto Raptors, four games to two.

The Playoffs
The 2017-2018 NBA season was one of the most competitive and entertaining seasons in recent memory. The Golden State Warriors, led by MVP Stephen Curry, were the favorites going into the playoffs. However, they were ultimately beaten by the underdog Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games. This was one of the greatest upsets in NBA history.

The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in Oakland, California. The Warriors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. Founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, the Warriors relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1962 and took the city’s name, before changing its geographic moniker to Golden State in 1971. They play their home games at the Chase Center.
The Warriors won the inaugural Basketball Association of America (BAA) championship in 1947, and won its second championship title in 1956, led by legendary center Wilt Chamberlain. The team lost the Western Conference Finals that year to the Minneapolis Lakers, but would go on to win five more championships throughout the next three decades with stars such as Rick Barry, Jerry West, Jamaal Wilkes, and Stephen Curry leading them to glory. Golden State has reached ten NBA Finals appearances, winning six NBA championships since 1947.
