The 2017 NBA Three Point Contest was held on February 18, 2017, during the All-Star Weekend. The contest featured eight shooters, including defending champion Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors.
Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving, point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, won the 2017 NBA three point contest during All-Star Weekend. Irving beat out Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors and Tobias Harris of the Orlando Magic in the final round. This is Irving’s first time winning the contest.
2017 Three Point Contest Champion
Kyrie Irving, then of the Cleveland Cavaliers, won the 2017 Three Point Contest at the NBA All-Star Weekend. Irving scored 20 points in the final round to beat out Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors.

Klay Thompson won the 2017 NBA Three Point Contest. In the final round, Thompson made an impressive 20 points, beating out Houston Rockets’ Eric Gordon, who made 17 points. Cavaliers’ Kyle Korver came in third with 16 points.

Klay Alexander Thompson (born February 8, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson, he played college basketball for three seasons with the Washington State Cougars, where he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection in the Pac-10. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft by Golden State with the 11th overall pick, and helped the Warriors win their first NBA championship in 40 years in his rookie season.
Thompson is a three-time NBA champion, and a two-time All-Star. He has also been named to the All-NBA Third Team twice. In 2015, he set an NBA record with 37 points in a single quarter, and in 2016, he helped lead the Warriors to an unbeaten 67–15 regular season record, which tied the 1995–96 Chicago Bulls for best regular season record in NBA history.

Eric Gordon
Eric Gordon won the 2017 NBA Three Point Contest, beating out Klay Thompson and Kyrie Irving in the final round. Gordon put up 22 points in the final round, including a perfect score of 24 in the last 60 seconds. It was a close contest, but Gordon came out on top in the end.
Third Place in the 2017 Three Point Contest
2017 was a huge year for Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon. He played a pivotal role in the Rockets’ run to the Western Conference Finals, and he won the NBA’s Three Point Contest.
In the Three Point Contest, Gordon defeated Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, and Wesley Matthews to take home the crown. It was a sweet moment for Gordon, who has had to battle injuries throughout his career.
After winning the contest, Gordon said, “It feels great. It’s something that I’ve worked hard for. To be able to come out here and compete against some of the best shooters in the league and come out on top is a dream come true.”
