Who Won The NFL Championship?
The National Football League (NFL) championship game is the biggest game of the year. Every year, two teams face off in a battle to be crowned the champion. But who won the NFL championship this year?
The NFL Championship
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league. It was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (APFA) before renaming itself the National Football League for the 1922 season. The NFL Championship game is the annual game that determines the winner of the NFL.
The teams
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world.[1] The NFL’s 17-week regular season runs from early September to late December, with each team playing 16 games and having one bye week. Following the conclusion of the regular season, seven teams from each conference (four division winners and three wild card teams) advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament culminating in the Super Bowl, which is usually held on the first Sunday in February and is played between the champions of the NFC and AFC.
The teams are:
AFC: East – Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets. North – Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers. South – Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans. West – Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers.
NFC: East – Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants , Philadelphia Eagles , Washington Redskins . North – Chicago Bears , Detroit Lions , Green Bay Packers , Minnesota Vikings . South – Atlanta Falcons , Carolina Panthers , New Orleans Saints , Tampa Bay Buccaneers . West – Arizona Cardinals , Los Angeles Rams , San Francisco 49ers , Seattle Seahawks .
The game
The game was played on January 12, 2020, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was the 49th modern-era National Football League (NFL) championship game. In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the NFL, it was designated as the NFL’s 100th anniversary game. The Saints defeated the Rams by a score of 26–23 in overtime to win their second Lombardi Trophy.
The aftermath
It was Tom Brady’s seventh rings, but it was Bill Belichick’s fifth. In a true team effort, the Patriots came from behind to win the game against the Falcons. This was the Patriots’ first ever Super Bowl come-from-behind victory, and the first time in Super Bowl history that a team has won after being down by more than ten points.
The winning team
The winning team of the NFL Championship will be decided based on a number of factors, including the performance of the team throughout the regular season, their postseason record, and their overall strength as a team. These factors will all be considered in order to determine who will be crowned the champion of the NFL.
The losing team
Nobody likes to talk about the losing team after a big game, but somebody has to. In this case, the loser was the New England Patriots. It was a close game, and the Patriots put up a good fight, but in the end they just couldn’t keep up with the Eagles.
The game was decided in the fourth quarter, when the Eagles scored a touchdown to take the lead. The Patriots had one last chance to score, but their quarterback threw an interception, which sealed their fate.
It was a disappointing end to what had been a great season for the Patriots, but they can take comfort in knowing that they gave it their all. They can also take heart in knowing that they’ll be back next year, and they’ll be looking to exact revenge on the Eagles.
