Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning are a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa, Florida. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay was granted an NHL franchise on October 26, 1991, after Bill Davidson had sent a conditional $32 million fee to cover franchise and expansion fees along with a guarantee for arena lease terms to the league office. The ownership group, headed by Davidson as well as Governor Bob Martinez and established businessman Philip Esposito, met several times and hired permanent team president Tony Esposito on August 10. The team then hired former Detroit Red Wings general manager Nick Polano as its first head coach on August 28.

The Lightning’s primary colors are blue, white and black. Their logo depicts a stylized lightning bolt striking through the word “TAMPA BAY”, with an italicized word “lightning” above it and set at an angle.

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins are a professional ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team has been in existence since 1924, making them the third-oldest active team in the NHL, and the oldest to be based in the United States.

The Bruins have won six Stanley Cup championships, tied for fourth most of any team in NHL history and tied for second most of any American NHL team behind the Chicago Blackhawks.
