Who Won The WWE Championship Last Night?
Find out who won the WWE Championship last night, as well as all the other results from the event.
WWE Raw
Last night’s WWE Raw was a historic show as it was the first time that both the WWE Universal Championship and the WWE Championship were defended on the same night. Brock Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman to retain the WWE Universal Championship, while Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose to become the new WWE Champion.
Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins won the WWE Championship last night on Raw, after a hard-fought battle against “The Beast” Brock Lesnar. Rollins earlier in the night had to overcome a handicap match against “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
Kofi Kingston
WrestleMania 35 was the thirty-fifth annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event and WWE Network event produced by WWE for their Raw and SmackDown brands. It took place on April 7, 2019, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. WrestleMania 35 was the first WrestleMania to be main evented by women (Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey), as well as the first containing only women’s matches from start to finish.
WWE Smackdown
Last night’s WWE Smackdown was a historic event. Not only did we see a new WWE Champion crowned, but we also saw the long-awaited debut of Samoa Joe. Joe made his presence felt immediately, attacking the new WWE Champion, AJ Styles. Joe then went on to defeat Baron Corbin in a match that was surprisingly good.
Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar is a former professional wrestler who is currently signed to WWE. He is the current WWE Universal Champion in his first reign. He is also a former NCAA Division I Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, and a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar is popularly known as “The Beast” due to his athleticism, size and brute strength.
AJ Styles
AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to win the WWE Championship at last night’s WWE Smackdown Live event in Manchester, England.
This marks the second time that Styles has held the WWE Championship, and he is now a two-time champion overall in WWE. He first won the title back at WWE Backlash in May of 2017, defeating then-champion Mahal. He would go on to hold the title for 140 days before losing it to Mahal at WWE Hell in a Cell in October.
Now, just over two months later, Styles has recaptured the WWE Championship from Mahal in what was a rematch of their Backlash match from earlier this year.

Adam Cole
Adam Cole is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE under the ring name Adam Cole, where he performs on the NXT brand. He is a former one-time NXT Champion, one-time NXT North American Champion and one-time NXT Tag Team Champion. Cole is also a former three-time ROH World Champion, a two-time PWG World Champion and a one-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion.
