Miami Heat
The Miami Heat were victorious in tonight’s NBA Finals, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. Led by Finals MVP Jimmy Butler, the Heat put together a dominating performance throughout the series, outscoring the Lakers by an average of 12 points per game.
This is the sixth NBA championship for the Miami Heat, and their first since 2014. Butler becomes just the second player in NBA history to win an NBA championship, an NCAA championship, and an Olympic gold medal, joining Magic Johnson as the only other player to accomplish that feat.
The Game
Tonight’s match-up was a thrilling one. The Warriors and the Cavaliers went back and forth, and the lead changed hands multiple times. In the end, the Warriors came out on top, winning by a score of 115-101.
