The Players
The NBA Finals are in full swing, and the question on everyone’s mind is: who’s ahead? The answer, of course, lies in the players. Let’s take a look at the key players on both teams and see who has the upper hand.
LeBron James
LeBron Raymone James Sr. (/ləˈbrɒn/; born December 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is widely considered to be one of the greatest basketball players in NBA history. Discussions ranking him as the greatest player of all time have often occurred and continue to do so. James played high school basketball at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, where he was highly promoted in the national media as a future NBA superstar. A prep-to-pro, he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003 as the first overall draft pick. Named the 2003–04 NBA Rookie of the Year, he soon established himself as one of the league’s premier players; winning the NBA Most Valuable Player Award in 2009 and 2010. After failing to win a championship with Cleveland, James left in 2010 to sign as a free agent with Miami. This move was announced on ESPN during a live special titled The Decision, and is one of the most controversial free agent decisions in NBA history.
James won his first two NBA championships while playing for Miami in 2012 and 2013. He was named NBA Finals MVP both times, becoming one of only four players to have won Finals MVP three times Series completed on October 28 James returned to Cleveland in 2014. Anthony Davis
As the Anthony Davis-led Los Angeles Lakers look to close out the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, the big question is: Who is this team’s most valuable player?
There’s no denying that Davis has been a force on both ends of the floor throughout the series, averaging 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game while shooting 55.3% from the field and 38.1% from three-point range. He’s also been a key component of the Lakers’ defensive gameplan, helping to contain Heat star Jimmy Butler while also serving as a rim protector.
However, some have argued that it’s actually point guard LeBron James who has been the team’s MVP, as he’s averaged 25.0 points, 8.8 assists and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 49.4% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range. James has also been clutch in crunch time, leading the Lakers in scoring in fourth quarters throughout the series.
So who is the Lakers’ MVP? There’s no easy answer, but it’s clear that both Davis and James have been vital to their team’s success thus far.
Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler is an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). After playing one year of college basketball for Tyler Junior College, he transferred to Marquette University. He was drafted with the 30th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. The Matchups
The Warriors will have their hands full with the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers have the best player in the world in LeBron James, and they also have a very deep team. The Warriors will need to rely on their superstar players, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, to carry them to victory.
Lakers vs. Heat
Game 1 of the 2020 NBA Finals is in the books, and it was a nail-biter. The Los Angeles Lakers outlasted the Miami Heat in a hard-fought matchup, 108-104. It was a physical game, with both teams playing tough defense. The Lakers were led by Anthony Davis, who had 34 points and nine rebounds. Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 23 points and 11 assists.
The series now shifts to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4. The Lakers will be looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead, while the Heat will be trying to even the series before it heads back to Miami.
Who’s ahead in the NBA Finals?
The Lakers have taken Game 1, but the series is far from over. The Heat are a tough team, and they’ll be looking to even the series in Game 2. It’s going to be a great series, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.

The Predictions
We’re now in the NBA Finals and the question on everyone’s mind is who’s going to take home the championship title? The Golden State Warriors are facing off against the Toronto Raptors and it’s anyone’s guess as to who will come out on top. Many experts have weighed in with their predictions and it’s time to take a look at who they think will be the winner.
ESPN
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently leading the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat with a 2-1 record. According to ESPN, the Lakers have a 61.9 percent chance of winning the championship, while the Heat have a 38.1 percent chance.
CBS Sports
It’s safe to say that theLos Angeles Lakers are the favorite team heading into the 2020 NBA Finals.
The Lakers have been the best team in the league all season long, and they proved it again in the Western Conference Finals by sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers. Now, they’ll face either the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics in the Finals, and CBS Sports’ panel of experts is unanimously picking them to come out on top.
Of course, anything can happen in a seven-game series, and the Heat or Celtics will have a chance to pull off an upset if they can play at their best. But based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s hard to bet against the Lakers right now.
Bleacher Report
As the 2018-19 NBA season mercifully comes to a close, all eyes now turn to the playoffs and, eventually, the NBA Finals.
The Golden State Warriors have been to the last four NBA Finals, winning three of them. The Dynastic Dubs are once again the favorites to represent the Western Conference in this year’s finals. But things could be different this time around.
The Warriors will be without star forward Kevin Durant for at least the first round of the playoffs due to a strained calf. Durant is one of the best players in the world and his absence will be felt. Additionally, All-Star guard Klay Thompson is nursing a sore hamstring and may not be 100 percent when the playoffs start.
