It’s that time of year again! The NFL regular season is over and the playoffs are just around the corner. So, who’s gonna win MVP this year?
Tom Brady
The NFL MVP this year is going to be Tom Brady without a doubt. He has had an incredible season and has led his team to the Super Bowl. Brady has been the most consistent and best quarterback in the league and deserves to be MVP.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston area. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is located 28 miles (45 km) southwest of downtown Boston.
The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium. An original member of the American Football League (AFL), the Patriots joined the NFL in the 1970 merger of the two leagues. The team changed its name from the originalBoston Patriots after relocating to Foxborough in 1971. The Patriots played their home games at Foxboro Stadium from 1971 to 2001, then moved to Gillette Stadium at the start of 2002 season.
The Patriots have appeared in ten Super Bowls in franchise history, winning seven of them. They have played in more than thirty AFC Championship Games, and have made an appearance in every AFC Championship Game since 1997. The New England Patriots have been caught up in several controversies throughout their history, including alleged espionage against other teams, election interference by team management, tampering with footballs, and accusations of cheating by players and staff members.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a professional American football team based in Tampa, Florida. The Buccaneers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The team plays its home games at Raymond James Stadium.
Dak Prescott
Dak Prescott had an incredible season and broke multiple records. Some people are saying that he’s the front runner for NFL MVP. Let’s take a look at his stats and see if he’s the deserving candidate.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference East division. They are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NFL, having attained eight NFL Championships, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos for second mostSuper Bowl appearances behind only the New England Patriots, with eleven. The Cowboys have made it to ten NFC Championship games, tying them with the San Francisco 49ers; both teams trail only the Green Bay Packers for most NFC Championship Game appearances.
Russell Wilson
It’s hard to deny that Wilson had one of the best seasons by a quarterback in NFL history. He led the league in touchdowns and passer rating while throwing a career-low interception total. Wilson also rushed for a career-high 586 yards and three touchdowns. All of this resulted in Wilson being named the NFC Offensive Player of the Year.
Seattle Seahawks
Under head coach Pete Carroll, the Seahawks have been one of the most successful teams in the NFL since Wilson was drafted in 2012. They’ve made the playoffs six times, won four division titles and one conference championship, and they’ve appeared in two Super Bowls. In Wilson’s eight seasons as the Seahawks’ starting quarterback, they have never had a losing record.
Wilson has been one of the most productive and efficient quarterbacks in the NFL since he entered the league. He ranks second in career passing yards per attempt (8.23), third in career passing touchdowns (208), fourth in career touchdown percentage (6.6%), fourth in career interception percentage (1.8%), fifth in career passer rating (103.1) and sixth in career QBR (70.5). He is also one of only four quarterbacks to throw for at least 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns in each of his first eight seasons, joining Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
Aaron Rodgers
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the favorite to win NFL MVP this season. He’s led the Packers to a 10-3 record and has thrown for 4,299 yards, 40 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. Rodgers is also the leading candidate for the Offensive Player of the Year award.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference North division. They are also the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, dating back to 1919, and are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States. Home games have been played at Lambeau Field since 1957.
The Packers are the last of the “small town teams” which were common in the NFL during the league’s early days of 1921 and 1922. Founded in 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun, the franchise traces its lineage to other semi-professional teams in Green Bay dating back to 1896. Between 1919 and 1920, the Packers competed against other semi-pro clubs from around Wisconsin and Michigan. They joined the American Professional Football Association for the 1921 season as Calhoun was still recovering from an injury he suffered when he was thrown through a plate glass window while helping break up a fight between Cubs players Harry Steinfeldt and Fred Merkle on October 3, 1920. Lambeau proposed that he take over as head coach himself for that season; however, Packers president Andrew Bursley refused that offer and instead hired Mike Michalske as head coach for 1921. Michalske guided an undefeated Packers team to a 10–1–2 record that year; however, after starting off their 1922 campaign with two losses, Michalske was fired on October 16 after a 42–0 home loss against Detroit favoring former player Lavvie Dilweg over him as head coach.
