Who’s Not Playing Tonight in the NBA?

The NBA is back in action tonight with a full slate of games, but there are a few notable absences. Who’s not playing tonight in the NBA?

The Los Angeles Lakers

While the Los Angeles Lakers have been a dominant force in the NBA for many years, they are not playing tonight. This is due to the fact that they are not scheduled to play an NBA game tonight. So, if you’re looking to watch some NBA basketball tonight, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

Kobe Bryant

Kobe, one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, was drafted out of high school by the Charlotte Hornets with the 13th overall pick in 1996, then traded to the Lakers. He spent his entire 20-year career with Los Angeles, winning five championships. Kobe was an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team and 12-time member of the All-Defensive team. He was also a two-time NBA Finals MVP and a one-time league MVP.

Steve Nash

Steve Nash, a former professional basketball player, is not playing in tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Nash was born in South Africa and raised in Canada. He played college basketball at Santa Clara University, where he was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year three times. Nash was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1996 and went on to play 19 seasons in the NBA. He was a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player and a eight-time NBA All-Star. Nash retired from basketball in 2015 and is currently a consultant for the Golden State Warriors.

Pau Gasol

Pau Gasol is a Spanish professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a four-time NBA All-Star, and a two-time NBA champion. He was the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2002 with the Memphis Grizzlies. Gasol has won two Olympic silver medals, an Olympic bronze medal, and a FIBA World Cup title.

Gasol was drafted into the NBA in 2001 with the third overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks, who traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies. He became one of the best players in Grizzlies franchise history, playing six seasons before being traded to the Lakers in 2008. In 2014, he was named International Player of the Year by FIBA.

The Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are not playing tonight. They are on a scheduled day off to rest and prepare for their next game.

Dwyane Wade

Even though the Miami Heat are one of the NBA’s best teams, they will be without one of their key players tonight. Dwyane Wade, the team’s shooting guard, is out with an injury.

Wade is a 10-time NBA All-Star and a three-time NBA champion. He is widely considered to be one of the best shooting guards of all time.

Without Wade, the Heat will have to rely on other players to step up and fill his shoes. Tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers will be a good test to see how they can handle playing without one of their best players.

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh is not playing tonight for the Miami Heat. He is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a big game tonight against the Golden State Warriors. However, they will be without two of their best players. Russell Westbrook and Paul George are both out with injuries. This will be a tough game for the Thunder.

Kevin Durant

Durant, who hasn’t played since Feb. 28 because of a foot injury, is listed as out for Tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets. Durant has been doing some on-court work recently, but he has yet to be cleared for contact practice.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a nine-time NBA All-Star, and an eight-time All-NBA Team member. Westbrook won the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2016–17 season. He is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2012 as a member of the United States national team.

Westbrook played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins and was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. He was traded to the Thunder days before his first season began, and helped lead Oklahoma City to several playoff appearances. After Kevin Durant’s departure following the 2015–16 season via free agency, Westbrook became one of several young stars on OKC’s roster, along with Paul George and Steven Adams.

The Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are not playing tonight in the NBA. This is because they do not have an NBA team. The Chicago Bulls are a professional basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois, playing in the Eastern Conference of the NBA.

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose, the former MVP for the Chicago Bulls, is not playing in tonight’s game against the Miami Heat. Rose has been struggling with injuries lately and has not been able to play at his full potential. His absence will be felt by the Bulls, who are already without star player Jimmy Butler.

Joakim Noah

Joakim Simon Noah (born February 25, 1985) is a French professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in New York City to a French mother and a Swedish father, Noah grew up in Paris, France. He played for the Joakim Noah Foundation All-Stars in Chicago and won several prestigious French high school national championships with his team PSG-Racing. He also represented France in the juniors national team and won gold medals at both the 2002 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and the 2004 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.

In 2007, Noah was drafted ninth overall by the Chicago Bulls in the NBA draft. In his first season for the Bulls, he helped lead the team to a 49–33 record and their first playoff berth since 1998. Noah continued to improve during his sophomore year, becoming a regular starter while averaging career highs of 10.7 points and 11 rebounds per game while also dishing out two assists per game en route to being named to his first NBA All-Star team and being named as one of three finalists for Defensive Player of the Year.

The following season, Noah became more of an offensive threat while still providing strong defense, averaging over 14 points and nearly 13 rebounds per game while shooting close to 60 percent from the field as he helped lead the Bulls to an NBA-best 62–20 record en route to being named an All-Star for the second straight year as well as being named Second Team All-NBA. He helped lead the Bulls to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 1998 and their first NBA Finals appearance since 1993 before losing to LeBron James and the Miami Heat in five games.

In 2013, Noah achieved numerous career highs when he was again named an All-Star for the third time while averaging career highs of 12 points and 11 rebounds per game as he helped lead the Bulls back to Eastern Conference Finals where they lost again to James and Miami Heat in seven games. After losing Derrick Rose due several serious injuries throughout his career, as well as other key players such as Luol Deng during free agency that off-season, Joakim became one of only two full-time starters remaining on Chicago’s roster along with Taj Gibson. The following season saw him extend his career highs even further with 13.6 points per game along with 12 rebounds per game while starting all 82 games for only second time in his career en route to winning Defensive Player of The Year honors.
