Who are the NFL teams?

NFL teams are divided into two conferences: the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC).
Each conference is made up of four divisions, and each division has four teams. That means there are a total of 32 NFL teams.

The current NFL teams are:
AFC East: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets.
AFC North: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Cincinnati Bengals are a professional American football franchise based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Bengals compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) North division. Their home stadium is Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cincinnati. They are headquartered at Paul Brown Stadium in the North Bend neighborhood of Cincinnati.

The Bengals were founded in 1966 as a member of the American Football League (AFL) by former Cleveland Browns head coach Paul Brown. Brown was the Bengals’ head coach from their inception to 1975. After being dismissed as the Browns’ head coach by Art Modell in January 1963, Brown had shown interest in establishing another NFL franchise in Ohio and looked at both Columbus and Cincinnati as possible cities due to their location along vital Interstate highways.

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Browns compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Browns play their home games at FirstEnergy Stadium, which opened in 1999, with seating for 73,200 people. The Browns’ official colors are brown, orange and white. They are unique among the 32 member franchises of the NFL in that they do not have a logo on their helmets.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The team is headquartered in Frisco, Texas, and plays its home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which opened for the 2009 season. The stadium took the place of the partially covered Texas Stadium, which served as the home of the Cowboys from 1971 through 2008.

As of the 2019 season, there are 1,696 NFL players. Of those, 1,384 are active and 312 are inactive. The average NFL player is 26.8 years old and has played in the league for 4.6 years. The median age of an NFL player is 26, and the mode is 24.

What position do they play?

The NFL is made up of many different positions. Each position has a specific role to play on the team, and each requires a different set of skills.

Here is a brief overview of the different positions in the NFL:

Quarterbacks (QB) are the leaders of the offense. They are responsible for calling the plays, making sure the other players are in the right position, and executing on the field.

Running backs (RB) are responsible for carrying the ball on running plays. They also often catch passes out of the backfield and may even line up as wide receivers at times.

Wide receivers (WR) line up on either side of the offensive formation and run routes to catch passes from the quarterback. They must have good speed and quickness to create separation from defenders.

Tight ends (TE) line up next to or behind the offensive linemen and act as both blockers and receivers. They must be able to block well but also have good hands to catch passes. Some tight ends are better blockers while others are better receivers.

Offensive linemen (OL) consist of both guards and tackles who line up in front of the quarterback to protect him from getting sacked and open up holes for running backs. They must be big and strong to be successful at their position.

Defensive linemen (DL) consist of both defensive ends (DE) and defensive tackles (DT). Their job is to stop opposing offenses from gaining yards by rushing the ball or passing it. They must be quick off the snap and be able to shed blockers to make tackles in the backfield.

Linebackers (LB) line up behind the defensive linemen and are responsible for stopping rushing plays, covering receivers, and sacking quarterbacks. They must be quick and athletic with good tackling skills.
