AFC

In the AFC this weekend, we have the Tennessee Titans taking on the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans squaring off against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, who was then the owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced plans to relocatethe franchise to Baltimore in 1996. As part of a settlement between Modell and the city of Cleveland, the Browns were allowed to keep their name and history.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The Bills compete in the National Football League (NFL), as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays their home games at New Era Field in Orchard Park, New York. The Bills are the only NFL team that plays its home games in the state of New York.

The Bills began play as an original AFL franchise in 1960. They joined the NFL as part of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. The club has appeared in four Super Bowls, winning none. They played their first Super Bowl game in 1991, losing to the New York Giants, and have appeared in three additional Super Bowls since then, all losses. The Bills have an intense rivalry with their AFC East divisional opponents, particularly the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion. Forbes also ranks the Chiefs as the 28th-most valuable sports franchise in America and the 16th-most valuable NFL franchise.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston area. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is located 28 miles (45 km) southwest of downtown Boston.

The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium. An ownership group led by Robert Kraft purchased the team in 1994 for $172 million. The franchise began play in the AFL in 1960 as the Boston Patriots, and later joined the NFL in 1970 after the AFL–NFL merger.

NFC

The four teams left in the NFC are the Packers, Seahawks, 49ers, and Vikings. All four teams are very good and it will be a close battle to see who goes to the Super Bowl. The Packers and Seahawks have both looked unstoppable at times this season, but the 49ers and Vikings have also shown they can compete with the best. It should be a great weekend of football.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The Cowboys have won five Super Bowls—all with Hall of Fame head coach Tom Landry. They are also the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85), in which they missed the playoffs only twice.

Green Bay Packers

One of the most iconic franchises in NFL history, the Green Bay Packers have a legion of passionate fans across the globe. The Packers have won more championships than any other team in NFL history, with four Super Bowl titles and 13 league championships. The Packers are also the only publicly-owned franchise in the NFL, making them a truly unique organization.Green Bay’s offense is spearheaded by two-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. The Packers also have a strong running game led by superstar running back Aaron Jones. On defense, the Packers are led by linebacker Za’Darius Smith, who was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019. The Packers will be looking to make a deep run in the playoffs this year and they will be a tough out for any team they face.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team that competes in the National Football League (NFL). The Rams franchise was founded in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams in the short-lived second American Football League (AFL) before joining the NFL the next year. In 1946, the franchise moved to Los Angeles. The Rams franchise remained in the metro area until 1994, when they moved to St. Louis, and were known as the St. Louis Rams from 1995 to 2015. The Rams franchise returned to Los Angeles in 2016.

The club played their home games at Memorial Coliseum from 1946 to 1979, before moving to Anaheim Stadium in Anaheim, California in 1980, which they called home until 2015 when they moved back to Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park, now called SoFi Stadium.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Saints currently compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The team was founded by John W. Mecom Jr., David Dixon, and the city of New Orleans on November 1, 1966. The Saints began play in Tulane Stadium in 1967.

The name “Saints” is an allusion to November 1 being All Saints Day in the Catholic faith, as New Orleans has a large Catholic population. The team’s primary colors are old gold and black; their logo resembles both a fleur-de-lis and a tomahawk. They were a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and joined the NFL as part of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. The franchise won one Super Bowl, Super Bowl XLIV, which was played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida following the 2009 season; it was their first appearance in that game and first league championship since winning Super Bowl IV following the 1969 season.
