Luckily, we’ve got you covered. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about who’s playing NFL Football right now, including what time the games start and which channels you can find them on.
The Current NFL Season
It’s that time of year again! The NFL season is in full swing and there are plenty of games to choose from. So, who’s playing NFL football right now? Let’s take a look.
The NFL’s current season began on September 5th, 2019 and will end on December 29th, 2019.
During the NFL’s current season, each of the league’s 32 teams will play 16 games. The games are played over a 17-week period, which runs from September 5th to December 29th. There are bye weeks during Weeks 4-11, meaning that every team will have one week off during that span.
The regular season schedule is comprised of each team playing 16 games against opponents from their own division (4 games), another division in their conference (4 games), and two divisions from the other conference (4 games). The final two games on each team’s schedule are determined by their position in the standings from the previous season.
The NFL playoffs will begin on January 4th, 2020 and will conclude with Super Bowl LIV on February 2nd, 2020.
The Teams
Right now, four teams are playing in the NFL: the New England Patriots, the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
There are a total of 32 teams in the NFL, divided into two conferences – the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC).
The NFC is made up of 16 teams, grouped into four divisions – the East, West, North, and South. The AFC is also made up of 16 teams, grouped into the same four divisions.
In each division, there are four teams. The divisional winners advance to the playoffs, as do the two wild card teams (the two next-best teams in each conference who didn’t win their division).
The NFL season starts in September and culminates with the Super Bowl in early February.
The Standings
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The Playoffs
Excitement is in the air! The playoffs are finally here and NFL fans are ready to see who will make it to the Super Bowl. Who do you think will win? As always, there are a few teams that stand out above the rest. The New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Green Bay Packers are all looking strong this season.
The NFL playoffs are scheduled to begin on January 4th, 2020 and will end with the Super Bowl on February 2nd, 2020.
The NFL playoffs are a single-elimination tournament held after the end of the regular season to determine the NFL champion. From 1933 to 1966, the NFL postseason generally only consisted of the NFL Championship Game, pitting the league’s two division winners (since 1967, four teams have qualified for the playoffs in each conference). The league expanded to include Wild Card teams in 1978, and presently includes 14 teams—12 divisional champions and two Wild Card qualifiers.
The playoffs are structured so that six teams from each of the league’s two conferences qualify for the tournament. These teams are seeded according to their regular-season record. In the first round, nicknamed the “wild-card playoffs” or “wild-card weekend”, the third-seeded division winner hosts the sixth seed wild card, and fourth hosts fifth. The 1 and 2 seeds from each conference then receive a bye in this round. In the second round, nicknamed “divisional playoffs”,
the top remaining seed in each conference is given hosting privileges against their lowest remaining seed from round one. These matchups take place on January 11th-12th, 2020. The relationships among these seeding parameters are shown in this table:
