Their annual game has become one of the most anticipated events of the NFL season, and is broadcast to a national audience.
The Dallas Cowboys joined the Lions as an annual Thanksgiving Day opponent in 1966, when they defeated the Cleveland Browns. The two teams have played each other every year since, with the Cowboys holding a slight lead in the all-time series (33-32-1).
