Introduction
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world. The NFL was formed in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (APFA) before renaming itself the National Football League for the 1922 season.
The NFL schedule consists of a regular season of 16 games per team, played over a 17-week period from September to December. Each team plays one game against each of the other teams in its own division, two games against each of the teams from another division in its own conference, and four games against teams from the other conference. AFC teams play NFC teams in interconference games. The regular season ends with 12 teams qualifying for the playoffs: six from each conference, four division winners and two wild card teams. These travel to four AFC and four NFC playoff seeded seeded according to their regular season records. Wild card playoff game winners then visit either the lowest remaining seed or second lowest remaining seed from their conference playing on January 5-6, 2020 while divisional playoff game winners will play on January 12-13, 2020 with championship games played on February 2nd at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California

The NFC is made up of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The AFC is made up of the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans.
