Introduction
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). The NFL is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America, and the highest professional level of American football in the world.
The NFL was formed in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (APFA) before renaming itself the National Football League for the 1922 season.
NFL Teams
The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC).
AFC
The American Football Conference (AFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest professional level of American football in the world. This conference and its counterpart the National Football Conference (NFC), currently contain 16 teams each, making up a total of 32 teams in the NFL. Both conferences are made up of four divisions, and each division has four teams. This set-up ensures that every team in the NFL plays every other team at least once every season.
The AFC was created as part of the 1970 NFL merger, when the league merged with the American Football League (AFL). All ten of the AFL’s teams joined the NFL, including the three-time defending AFL champion New York Jets. Since 1970, nine expansion teams have joined the AFC, bringing its total number of teams to 19. The most recent addition to the conference was in 2002, when the Houston Texans became football’s 32nd franchise.
NFC
The National Football Conference (NFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest professional level of American football in the world. This conference and its counterpart, the American Football Conference (AFC), currently contain 16 teams each, making up the 32-team league.
The NFC was created in 1970 as part of the AFL–NFL merger, when the AFL’s 10 teams plus three NFL teams (the original Dallas Cowboys who had joined that same year as well as the expansion Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints) were grouped together to form an 11-team conference. At first, only four teams qualified for the playoffs: two division winners and two wild card clubs. Since 1975, each team that wins their division title earns a playoff berth. The NFC Championship Game is played between the division winners each January with home-field advantage going to the team with the best record in the regular season.
As of 2020, here are the teams in NFC:
-Arizona Cardinals
-Atlanta Falcons
-Carolina Panthers
-Chicago Bears
-Dallas Cowboys
-Detroit Lions
-Green Bay Packers
-Los Angeles Rams
-Minnesota Vikings
-New Orleans Saints
-New York Giants
-Philadelphia Eagles
-San Francisco 49ers
-Seattle Seahawks
-Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sunday Night Football
Two of the best teams in the NFL will face off against each other tonight in a highly-anticipated Sunday Night Football matchup. The New Orleans Saints will be home at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to take on the Los Angeles Rams in what is sure to be an exciting game.
Both teams are 9-1 on the season and are coming off of wins in their last games. The Saints are coming off of a win against the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks. This game is sure to be a close one, as both teams have high-powered offenses and stingy defenses.
The Saints will be looking to continue their winning ways at home, where they have won 19 straight games. They are also looking to clinch the NFC South division title with a win tonight. The Rams, on the other hand, are looking to keep pace with the Saints for the best record in the NFC and can clinch a playoff berth with a win tonight.
This game is scheduled to start at 8:20 PM EST and will be broadcast on NBC.
Monday Night Football
Tonight’s Monday Night Football game features the New Orleans Saints hosting the Houston Texans. The Saints are coming off a disappointing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Texans are fresh off a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This should be a great game between two evenly matched teams. Both the Saints and the Texans have strong offenses, so we can expect lots of points scored. On defense, the Saints have been struggling lately, so the Texans may have an advantage there.
Whoever wins tonight’s game will move up in the standings and put themselves in a better position to make the playoffs. Be sure to tune in at 8:30 PM EST to catch all the action!
Conclusion
The NFL regular season is coming to a close, and we now know which teams will be playing in the post-season. The NFC will be represented by the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys. In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, and Baltimore Ravens have all clinched playoff spots. This leaves two wild card spots up for grabs.
In the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks are currently in the lead for the first wild card spot. They are closely followed by the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have a slightly better chance of winning the division than the Seahawks, but it is still very possible that Seattle will take home the first wild card spot.
In the AFC, things are a bit more complicated. The Indianapolis Colts currently hold the first wild card spot, but they are closely followed by both the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans. The Pittsburgh Steelers are also still in contention for a wild card spot. So, it’s very possible that we could see an all-AFC wildcard game between either Indianapolis and Pittsburgh or Miami and Tennessee.
The NFL playoffs are always full of surprises, so be sure to tune in to see who comes out on top!
