The Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, and Oklahoma City Thunder have all been eliminated from the NBA playoffs.

Eastern Conference

The Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA) is one of two conferences that makes up the league, the other being the Western Conference. Like the Western Conference, the Eastern Conference is made up of 15 teams, organized in three divisions.

The current divisional alignment was introduced in 2004, when the now Charlotte Bobcats joined the league as an expansion team. The conference has been home to more than its share of dynasties and powerhouse teams; most notably, the Boston Celtics who have an NBA-record 17 championships.

Western Conference

The Golden State Warriors are the two-time defending NBA champions and they will be looking to three-peat this year. They are led by a star-studded lineup that includes Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. The Warriors finished the regular season with a 57-25 record, good for second place in the Western Conference.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Warriors will take on the seventh-seeded San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are led by veteran stars such as LaMarcus Aldridge and Rudy Gay. They also have a young star in Dejounte Murray. The Spurs finished the regular season with a 48-34 record.

The Warriors are heavy favorites to win this series, but the Spurs will not go down without a fight. The first game of the series will be played on Saturday, April 13 at 3:30pm ET on ABC.

What’s next

The fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks, were the latest team to be eliminated from the postseason when they lost to the Miami Heat in Game 5 of their first-round matchup. That leaves just four teams remaining in the NBA playoffs: the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, and the Portland Trail Blazers.
