It’s a debate as old as time itself: who’s the best player in the NFL right now? We break down the top five contenders for the title.

Tom Brady

Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL right now. He has led his team to the Super Bowl for the past two years and has won four Super Bowls. Brady is a consistent passer and has a great arm. He is also a great leader and motivator.

He has been selected to eleven Pro Bowls, was the Observer-Reporter Offensive Player of the Year three times, and was named to both the Associated Press (AP) All-Pro Team and Second Team three times. He has set numerous NFL passing records, including career passing yards (74,437), single-season passing yards (5,476 in 2011), single-game passing yards (510), and career passing touchdowns (520). Brees holds Super Bowl records for most passing yards (1,368), highest completion percentage ([74.4][1]) for a game,[2] and most touchdown passes thrown in a Super Bowl game (3).[3][4] Brees is also one of only two quarterbacks to lead a team to victory in multiple Super Bowl games he did so with both New Orleans and Indianapolis.[5]

The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team that play in the National Football League (NFL). The Rams compete in the NFC West division, and are headquartered in Inglewood, California. Founded in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams, the franchise relocated to Los Angeles in 1946 and was the first NFL team in the city. The Rams franchise remained in Los Angeles until 1994, when they relocated to St. Louis. The Rams franchise returned to Los Angeles in 2016.

The Rams have won three NFL championships, and are the only team to win championships while representing three different cities (Cleveland, Los Angeles, and St. Louis). The Rams have appeared in six Super Bowls, winning one (Super Bowl XXXIV), and losing five (Super Bowl XIV, Super Bowl XVIII, Super Bowl XIX, Super Bowl XLI, and Super Bowl LIII).

In 2005, the Green Bay Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers with the 24th overall pick in the NFL draft. This was after the Packers had traded star quarterback Brett Favre to the New York Jets. Rodgers had to sit and wait behind Favre for three seasons before he finally got his chance to start in 2008. He took full advantage of that opportunity, leading the Packers to a 13-3 record and a berth in the NFC Championship game. Rodgers continued his success over the next few years, winning MVP honors in 2011 and again in 2014. He also led the Packers to a Super Bowl title in 2010.

Rodgers is currently considered by many to be the best quarterback in the NFL. He has completed 65 percent of his career passes for almost 38,000 yards and 313 touchdowns. He has thrown only 86 interceptions and has rushed for over 2,500 yards and 22 touchdowns. Rodgers is a two-time MVP and was named first-team All-Pro four times between 2011 and 2016. He is widely considered one of the best quarterbacks of all time.
