In 2018, Drew Brees was the highest paid NFL football player, with an annual salary of $13.5 million. He is a quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, and has been with the team since 2006. In 2009, he helped lead the Saints to their first ever Super Bowl victory, and was named the Super Bowl MVP. Brees is also a thirteen-time Pro Bowl selection, and was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2011.
Aaron Rodgers- $13 million
Aaron Rodgers became the highest-paid player in NFL history when he signed a four-year, $134 million extension with the Green Bay Packers in 2018. The deal included a $57.5 million signing bonus, and guaranteed Rodgers $103 million. He is currently set to earn an average of $33.5 million per year over the life of the contract.
Rodgers’ record contract comes just a few years after he was eclipsed by NFL quarterback Matt Ryan, who signed a five-year, $150 million extension with the Atlanta Falcons in 2018 that made him the league’s first $30 million per year player.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to earn an average of $33.5 million per year over the life of his new four-year, $134 million contract extension.
Ben Roethlisberger- $12 million
In 2019, Ben Roethlisberger is the highest paid NFL football player with an annual salary of $12 million. He is followed by Eli Manning ($11.5 million), Tom Brady ($10 million), and Drew Brees ($9 million).

In 2019, he will earn $18 million in base salary and a $2 million roster bonus for a total cash payout of $20 million. His 2020 base salary jumps to $19.125 million with a $31.25 million option bonus to be paid out that March bringing his total cash payout that season to an astounding $74.375 million. In the final two years of his contract, 2021 and 2022, Garoppolo’s base salaries are each $20 million with no other bonuses or guarantees included.

Wilson’s average annual salary of $35 million ranks second behind only Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who makes an average of $33.5 million per year.
