The Current Standings

In the NFL, every game matters. As we approach the halfway point of the season, let’s take a look at how each team is faring. In the AFC, the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers are leading the pack with identical 6-2 records.

NFC East

The NFC East is still anyone’s game. All four teams have a .500+ record, with the Cowboys and Eagles leading the way at 5-1. The Giants are 4-2, while the Redskins are 3-2.

It’s been a tight race so far, with all four teams winning and losing close games. The Cowboys have the best point differential in the division at +44, followed by the Eagles at +40. The Giants are just behind at +38, while the Redskins are slightly further back at +13.

The NFC East has been one of the most competitive divisions in football for years now, and this year is shaping up to be no different. With so many close games and talented teams, it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top in the end.

NFC West

The NFC West is a division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It currently has four members: the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks.

The Top Teams

The New England Patriots are currently winning the NFL game right now. They are ahead of the Indianapolis Colts with a score of 31-17. The Patriots are looking like they will win this game and take the lead in the AFC East.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston region. The Patriots compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is located 28 miles southwest of downtown Boston.

The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium. An original member of the American Football League (AFL), the Patriots joined the NFL in 1970 as part of the AFL–NFL merger. The team changed its name from the original Boston Patriots after relocating to Foxborough in 1971. The Patriots played their home games at Foxboro Stadium from 1971 to 2001, then moved to Gillette Stadium at the start of 2002 season. They have appeared in ten Super Bowls winning seven of them, most recently Super Bowl LIII in February 2019.

Seattle Seahawks

As of right now, the Seattle Seahawks are on top of the NFL with a 10-2 record. They have some tough competition ahead, but they have shown they are a strong team this season.
Their most recent win was against the Philadelphia Eagles. This was a big win because it solidified their position at the top of the NFC West and it put them in a good position for a first-round bye in the playoffs.
The Seahawks have a few key players that have been instrumental in their success this season.
One is quarterback Russell Wilson. He has been playing at an MVP level and is currently second in the NFL in passing touchdowns with 29. He has also been very efficient, as he has a passer rating of 110.9, which is the best in the NFL.
Another key player for the Seahawks is linebacker Bobby Wagner. He is one of the best linebackers in the NFL and is currently second in the league in tackles with 133. He also has four sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.
The Seahawks also have a great defense as a whole. They are currently ranked second in the NFL in points allowed per game at 18.3. They are also very good against the run, as they are allowing just 91.8 rushing yards per game, which is third best in the NFL.
If the Seahawks can keep up this level of play, they should be able to make a deep run into the playoffs and maybe even win another Super Bowl

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) North division. It is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, dating back to 1919, and is the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States. Home games have been played at Lambeau Field since 1957.

The Packers are also the last of the original NFL teams to be fully privately owned; other franchises have since transferred ownership to group founders or public entities such as holding companies. Green Bay Packers, Inc., is headquartered in Lambeau Field. With a Super Bowl title in 2010, they join New Orleans and Indianapolis as the only community-owned teams with a Lombardi Trophy.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The team is headquartered in Frisco, Texas, and plays its home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which opened for the 2009 season. The stadium took the place of the open-air Cotton Bowl, which served as the team’s home stadium from 1960 to 2008.

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Browns compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Browns play their home games at FirstEnergy Stadium, which opened in 1999, with administrative offices and training facilities in Berea, Ohio. The Browns’ official colors are brown, orange, and white. They are unique among the 32 member franchises of the NFL in that they do not have a helmet logo.

The franchise was founded in 1945 by businessman Arthur B. McBride and coach Paul Brown as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). The Browns dominated the AAFC, compiling a 47–4–3 record in the league’s four seasons and winning its championship in each. When the AAFC folded after the 1949 season, the Browns joined the NFL along with three other AAFC teams,the San Francisco 49ers,the original Baltimore Colts,and the original Buffalo Bills. In 1950, the Browns won a championship in their inaugural NFL season.

The team then won championships in 1954 and 1955. Three straight NFL titles between 1964 and 1966 followed, securing their place as legends of the game. The Browns were NFL champions again in 1968 under head coach Blanton Collier; however they failed to defend their title as they fell to eventual Super Bowl III champion New York Jets led by charismatic player/coach Joe Namath. Following Collier’s retirement after an unsuccessful four-year run with just two playoff appearances from 1969 to 1972,, Leroy Kelly became head coach; he led them to consecutive playoff berths his first two years , but then presided over five consecutive losing seasons from 1974 to 1978 . AfterKelly was fired following a 2–12 record in 1978 , Bud Carson was hired as head coach; he led them to three consecutive playoff appearances from 1979 to 1981 , but was fired following consecutive 6–10 seasons from 1982 to 1983 . Mike Phipps replaced Carson for 1984 ; he had some success early on including leading them back to playoffs for 1985 , but his teams never posted winning records during his five year tenure which ended with a 4–12 record for 1988 . Bud Grant replaced Phipps for 1989 and1990 ; he served as interim head coach for one game following a Week 13 neck injury suffered by Phipps that sidelined him for remainder of season; under Grant’s guidance that year’s team clinched its first division title since 1971 , but lost its lone playoff game against eventual conference champion Buffalo Bills . Finally, the San Francisco 49ers are 2-8 on the season and have lost eight consecutive games. They are currently in last place in the NFC West.
