Early Life and Education
Mike White was born in Pasadena, California, on November 28, 1970, the son of Lili Anne (née Weber), a write, and Ted White, a real estate developer. He grew up in nearby Flintridge. White is of English, German, Jewish, and Swiss descent. He attended Polytechnic School in Pasadena from kindergarten through twelfth grade. He then attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut for two years before transferring to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts to study filmmaking.
Career
Mike White is an American screenwriter, director, producer, and actor. He is best known for writing and directing the films School of Rock (2003), Nacho Libre (2006), Year of the Dog (2007), and Enlightened (2011–2013). He also had a supporting role in the film Chuck & Buck (2000), as well as television roles on Dawson’s Creek, Freaks and Geeks, and Enlightened. White was born in Pasadena, California. He attended Polytechnic School from kindergarten through high school.

Mike White was born on June 28, 1970, and raised in Pasadena, California. He is the son of Ted White, a retired civil engineer, and Margaret Ann “Peggy” (née Keil), a homemaker. His mother has English, Irish, Scottish, and German ancestry. He has a younger brother, Nate, who is an actor and producer. White was educated at Polytechnic School. He attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. While attending Wesleyan, he co-authored a play called “Bentley’s Ass,” which was produced off-Broadway at the Village Gate in New York City in 1992.

Mike White is currently the CEO of SouthernCross LLC, a management and investment holding company. He also serves on the Board of Directors for several companies in a variety of industries, including healthcare, technology, and retail. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and coaching his son’s baseball team.
