The history of the Bethlehem Basketball Club
The Bethlehem Basketball Club was founded in 1902 by Morrison Jackson and Frank Morley. The team was a founding member of the National League and won the League Championship in its inaugural season. The club played its home games at Dorney Park, which was also home to the other one of the club’s teams, the Bethlehem F.C.. The team’s colors were red and black.
The following year, the team changed its name to the Bethlehem Steelmen and joined forces with the local steel company of the same name. The Steelmen went on to win the League Championship again in 1903 and 1905. In 1906, they joined the new Eastern Basketball League but disbanded after just one season.
The team was resurrected in 1910 as the Bethlehem Pioneers, but folded once more after just two seasons. Finally, in 1913, the club found long-lasting success as the Bethlehem Athletic Association (BAA). The BAA won five straight league championships from 1916 to 1920. In 1921, they joined forces with another local team the Eastern League’s Allentown Bos 8s 9s 10s 11s 12s to form

We are a member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), which is the largest and most respected amateur athletic organization in the world. We are also a registered Bronze level USA Basketball Club, which is the governing body for amateur basketball in the United States
The BBC has a long-standing commitment to developing well-rounded young athletes We believe that participation in athletics can teach important LIFE LESSONS and help instill values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication. In addition to providing a competitive outlet, we also strive to create an enjoyable and positive environment for all involved.
We offer programs for Boys and Girls in grades 3-8. Our aim is to develop fundamental skills and provide each player with an opportunity to grow and compete at their appropriate level. We offer three different types of programs:
--AAU teams These teams compete in AAU tournaments throughout PA and NJ against some of the best competition in the area. Our AAU teams typically practice 2-3 times per week.
--Basketball Academy The Academy is a skills development program that runs twice per week throughout the winter months. The Academy is open to all players in grades 3-8 who want to improve their skills in a positive and supportive environment.
-Little Dribblers: This program is designed specifically for players in grades 3-5 who are new to basketball or are still developing their skills. Little Dribblers practices once per week and emphasizes learning through game play and FUN!
