Georgia Tech Basketball Schedule 2020-21

2020-21 Season Schedule

The 2020-21 season will be the Yellow Jackets’ 113th season of basketball.

The non-conference portion of the schedule begins on Wednesday, November 25, with a game against Kennesaw State at McCamish Pavilion. The remainder of the non-conference slate features games against North Carolina A&T (Nov. 28), Mercer (Dec. 2), Green Bay (Dec. 5), Omaha (Dec. 12), Charlotte (Dec. 19), Furman (Dec. 22), South Dakota State (Dec. 29) and Louisville (Jan. 2).

Georgia Tech will open ACC play on Saturday, Jan. 9, at home against Syracuse, and will also host Duke (Jan. 16), Virginia Tech (Jan. 27), Pittsburgh (Jan. 30), Boston College (Feb. 3), Florida State (Feb 12), Louisville (Feb. 20) and Miami (Feb 27) at McCamish Pavilion during the regular season

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Notre Dame (Jan 13), Clemson (Jan 23), Wake Forest (‘anuary 30), NC State (‘ebruary 6), Virginia (‘ebruary 10), North Carolina (‘ebruary 17) and Syracuse (‘ebruary 24).

Game Times and TV Schedule

The 2020-21 Georgia Tech Basketball Schedule features games against some of the nation’s top teams The Yellow Jackets will face off against ACC foes such as Duke, UNC, and Syracuse, as well as non-conference opponents like UCLA and Texas. TV information for each game will be announced closer to tip-off.

Away Games

The 2020-21 Georgia Tech Basketball Schedule features games against some of the best teams in the country. The Yellow Jackets will open their season on the road against the University of Central Florida, followed by a game against the University of South Florida. They will then travel to take on Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati The Yellow Jackets will return home to face off against Clemson University and Virginia Tech before hitting the road again to take on Duke University and Wake Forest University.

ACC Conference Games

January 2: Georgia Tech at Virginia, 12 noon
January 6: Florida State at Georgia Tech 7 pm
January 9: Georgia Tech at Pittsburgh, 12 noon

Non-Conference Games

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men’s basketball team will commence their 116th season of play in 2020–21. Head Coach Josh Pastner will enter his fifth season at the helm of the program. The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to play a total of 29 games during the regular season which will begin on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, and are slated to conclude on Saturday, March 6, 2021. The complete schedule, with times and television information, was released on October 1, 2020.

Georgia Tech’s non-Conference Schedule includes nine games against seven opponents. The Yellow Jackets will face one opponent twice and four teams once each. Five of these games are scheduled to be played at home in McCamish Pavilion on the campus of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia; four games are scheduled as road games; and no neutral site games are included in this portion of the schedule. This will be followed by an 18-game conference schedule that was announced on September 30, 2020.

Post-Season Games

Georgia Tech will appear in the 2020-21 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament it was announced on Selection Sunday. The Yellow Jackets are a No. 4 seed in the East Region and will face 13th-seeded UCF in the first round at HP Field House in Orlando, Florida. The game is set for Friday, March 19, at 6:10 p.m. EDT and will be televised on CBS.

Head Coach

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets men’s basketball is set to begin their 2020-21 season on Wednesday, November 25th at home against Presbyterian. head coach Josh Pastner will look to lead his team to success this season with a young and experienced roster.

The Yellow Jackets will have an experienced backcourt led by seniors Jose Alvarado and Michael Devoe. Alvarado, who was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, averaged 12.1 points and 3.5 assists per game last season while Devoe led the team in scoring with 16.0 points per game The frontcourt will be anchored by junior Jalen Coleman-Lands, who averaged 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season. Coleman-Lands will be joined by sophomore Moses Wright and freshman PJ Horne as they look to make an impact on the court this season.
