Leatherhead Basketball – Your Local Team

Head Basketball is your local basketball team based in Leatherhead, Surrey. We offer a wide range of basketball services, from weekly training sessions to one-to-one coaching, and compete in local leagues and tournaments.

About the team

Leatherhead Basketball Club is a local community team that has been established for over 10 years. We play in the Surrey Basketball League and compete in the National Cup. Our home games are played at Meadowbrook Leisure Centre, located in the heart of Leatherhead.

We are always looking for new players of all abilities to join our friendly club. If you would like to join us or find out more about the team, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The players

The Leatherhead Basketball team is made up of a group of local young men who have a passion for the game. This year, the team is made up of:

– Guards: Robert Skinner and Connor Brown
– Forwards: James Hill and Michael Jeffries
– Center: Andrew Simpson

The team is coached by Jason Porter, who has been with the club for six years.

The games

The history

Leatherhead Basketball Club is a local team that has been around for many years. The team has a rich history and has produced some Great players over the years.

The rivals

The two teams have been competing against each other for years, and the rivalry is only getting stronger. The Leatherhead Lions have never been able to beat the Aztecs in a game, and they are determined to change that this year.

The gear

Basketball is a sport that’s played with a ball and two teams of five players each. The objective is to shoot the ball through the other team’s basket to score points In order to play basketball you need the proper gear. This includes a basketball, a hoop, and appropriate clothing.

The type of basketball you use depends on your age and skill level. A regulation size basketball is 29.5 inches in diameter, but sizes range from 27 to 30 inches. For beginners, it’s best to start with a size 5 or 6 ball. As you get more skilled, you can move up to a size 7 or 8 ball.

You’ll also need a hoop to play basketball The standard height for a regulation hoop is 10 feet, but hoops come in all sorts of sizes for different age groups and skill levels. If you’re just starting out, look for a hoop that’s around 6 feet tall.

As far as clothing goes, you’ll want to wear something comfortable that won’t restrict your movement. Basketball is a high-intensity sport, so you’ll want clothes that will allow you to move freely. shorts and a t-shirt are usually fine, but make sure they’re not too baggy. You don’t want your clothes getting caught on the hoop or another player!

The skills

Basketball is a sport that requires not only physical strength and agility, but also a great deal of skill. A good player needs to be able to dribble the ball well, pass it accurately to their teammates, and shoot it into the basket consistently. These are just some of the Basic Skills that are necessary to play the game

In order to become a good player, it is important to practice these skills as often as possible. Head Basketball offers players the opportunity to practice their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Our Coaching Staff is experienced and will help players develop their abilities further. The drills

Pre-game drills are vital for any basketball game They not only get your team warmed up and ready to play, but they also help to improve your team’s skills. At Head Basketball we have a range of pre-game drills that we make sure our team runs through before every game. Here are some of the drills that we use:

The league

The Leatherhead Basketball team is a semi-professional basketball team based in the town of Leatherhead, Surrey, in the south east of England. The team currently plays in the National Basketball league (NBL) Division 1, the second tier of English basketball.

The team was founded in 2015, and played its first season in 2016. The team’s home arena is the 3,500 capacity Heartbreak Hotel.

The team finished its inaugural season in 7th place with a record of 16-14. The team made it to the playoffs, but lost in the first round to the London Lions

In the 2017-18 Season the team finished in 3rd place with a record of 24-6, and made it to the playoff semifinals, where they lost to eventual champions Leicester Riders

The 18-19 season was cancelled due to financial difficulties.

The 2019-20 season saw the team finish in 5th place with a record of 18-12. The team made it to the playoffs, but lost in the first round to Worthing Thunder.
