The Current Baseball Program

In the present day, the Carl Albert State college baseball program is on the rise. The team has improved in recent years and has compiled a winning record in each of the last four seasons. The college has also made two straight appearances in the NJCAA Division II World Series In 2017, the team finished as runners-up in the tournament.

The current head coach of the team is Nick Salazar, who took over the program prior to the 2014 season. Under Salazar’s guidance, the team has seen a marked improvement in its performance. In his first season at the helm, Carl Albert won 33 games, which was a significant increase from the previous year’s win total of 22.

The players on the current roster are a mix of freshmen and sophomores, with a handful of juniors sprinkled in. The pitching staff is anchored by a pair of talented freshmen: right-hander Connor Noland and left-hander Luke Heimlich. Both Noland and Heimlich were named to the All-Region VI team after their outstanding freshman campaigns.

The College’s Facilities

Assistant coaches Brad Stamps and Matt Stiawalt work with Beard to provide a well-rounded Coaching Staff that knows how to win. Stamps, who is entering his second year with the program, focuses on hitters and infielders. Stiawalt, who is also entering his second year, works with pitchers and catchers.

The coaching staff has helped elevate the program to new levels of success and they appear poised to continue their upward trajectory in the coming years.
