PSJA Bears Baseball Team History and Overview

Since the 2006 founding of the PSJA Bears Baseball Team they have enjoyed a rich history of success on and off the field. The team has won multiple conference championships and made several appearances in the state playoffs. In addition to their on-field success, the team has also been recognized for their community service and involvement. The team has been featured in local and national news outlets for their work with various charities and causes.

The PSJA Bears are a proud member of the South Texas amateur baseball Association (STXABL). The STXABL is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing opportunities for adults to play organized baseball in a safe, fun, and competitive environment. The league is open to all adult players 18 years of age or older.

The PSJA Bears baseball team is back and better than ever! After a successful 2017 season, the team is looking to build on their success and make an even bigger impact in 2018.

With a strong core group of returning players and some new additions, the team is poised for another great year. Be sure to catch them in action and root them on as they look to make some noise in the 2018 season!

PSJA Bears Baseball: The 2019 Season

PSJA Bears Baseball is back and better than ever. After finishing the 2018 season with an overall record of 21-5, the team is looking to build on their success and make a run at the state championship The 2019 squad is loaded with talent, led by senior pitcher/infielder Carlos Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who has already committed to play baseball at the University of Texas, is one of the top prospects in the state. He will be joined by fellow seniors Adrian Gonzalez (catcher), Eddie Lara (second base), and Miguel Martinez (outfield).

The team will also have a strong group of underclassmen, highlighted by juniors Manny Sandoval (shortstop) and Jerry Dominguez (third base), and sophomores Julio Rivera (outfield) and Israel Gutierrez (pitcher). With a mix of experience and youth, the PSJA Bears are poised for another successful season

After a long and difficult 2020 season, the PSJA Bears baseball team is back and better than ever. With a new Coaching Staff and a revamped roster, the Bears are looking to make some noise in the 2020 season.

Key returners for the Bears include pitcher Luis Rodriguez who was named honorable mention All-District last season, and infielder/outfielder Joel Garcia, who was one of the team’s top hitters in 2019. The Bears also have a promising group of newcomers, including pitcher/infielder Angel Rodriguez and outfielder/pitcher Sebastian Hernandez.

PSJA Bears Baseball: The 2021 Season

PSJA Bears Baseball is back and better than ever! After a tough 2020 season, the team has been working hard to prepare for the 2021 season. With a strong core of returning players and some new additions to the team, the PSJA Bears are looking to make a run at the playoffs this year.

The team will be led by senior catcher Antonio Rodriguez, who is coming off a strong 2020 campaign in which he hit .302 with 4 home runs and 28 RBI. Rodriguez will be joined by fellow seniors Julio Cedillo and Alan Dominguez in the middle of the lineup, giving the Bears a potent offensive attack.

On the mound, the Bears will be led by ace pitcher Jose Gonzalez, who is coming off a stellar 2020 season in which he posted a 2.38 ERA with 80 strikeouts in only 62 innings pitched Gonzalez will be joined by fellow seniors Danny Reyes and Carlos Gutierrez in the rotation, giving the Bears a strong pitching staff that should allow them to compete with any team in their district.
