Sussex Tech’s history as a Baseball Team is a long and storied one. The team has been playing for nearly 50 years, and in that time, they have seen great success. In fact, Sussex Tech is one of the most successful baseball teams in the state of Delaware.
The team got its start in the early 1970s. The original members of the team were all students at Sussex Technical High School The team was originally made up of students who were interested in playing baseball but who were not able to make the varsity team at their high school Sussex Tech was originally an unofficial team, but they soon began to play other high school teams in the area.
In 1975, Sussex Tech joined the Diamond State baseball league The league was made up of teams from all over Delaware, and it gave Sussex Tech a chance to compete against some of the best teams in the state. Sussex Tech quickly became one of the top teams in the league, and they won their first League Championship in 1977.
Since then, Sussex Tech has won nine more league championships. They have also been to the State Tournament nineteen times, and they have won six State Championships In 2009, Sussex Tech won the National Championship They are the only team from Delaware to ever win a National Championship
Sussex Tech has produced many Great players over the years. Twenty-three players from Sussex Tech have gone on to play Major League Baseball That is more than any other high school in Delaware. Seven members of the Sussex Tech Hall of Fame are Major League Baseball players.
The current members of Sussex Tech’s baseball team are continuing the great tradition of the team. They are working hard to be successful both on and off the field.

The Future of Sussex Tech Baseball
The future of Sussex Tech baseball looks bright with a strong group of young players The team is led by senior pitcher Alex Cramer, who has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. The other seniors on the team are catcher Joe Wilkerson, first baseman Dylan Ward, infielder/outfielder Bryce Patterson, and utility player/outfielder Tyler Hollenbeck. These five seniors have been three-year varsity starters and have been a big part of the team’s success over the last three years.
