The Nebraska–Creighton Basketball rivalry is a college basketball rivalry between the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Creighton University Bluejays. The two schools are separated by less than 50 miles, making it one of the shortest distance rivalries in NCAA Division I.
The rivalry started in 1913 when Creighton upset then-favorite Nebraska in a game played at Omaha’s Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum. The teams would not meet again until 1950, when they began playing each other annually as members of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). When Nebraska joined the Big Eight Conference in 1964, the teams continued to play each other as non-conference opponents. After Creighton left the MVC to join the Great West Conference in 2013, the schools continued their annual matchup as non-conference foes.
The series is currently tied at 94 wins apiece, with Nebraska holding a slight advantage in terms of overall winning percentage (.543 to .542). However, Creighton has won eight of the last ten meetings between the two schools, including a come-from-behind victory over then-ranked #16 Nebraska in 2017.

Fred Hoiberg is in his second year as Head Coach of the Cornhuskers, whileGreg McDermott is in his ninth season with the Bluejays. Both coaches have had success at other schools prior to coming to their current positions, and both are looking to add another chapter to this great rivalry.
