The Texas Longhorns baseball team has been one of the most successful programs in all of college baseball over the past few years. They have won 3 National Championships in the last 5 years and have made it to the College World Series 8 times in the last 15 years. The Texas Longhorns are currently ranked #1 in the nation and are looking to make a return trip to Omaha for the College World Series In order to make it back to Omaha, the Longhorns will need to win the Big 12 conference tournament and then win one of the 16 Regional tournaments that are held around the country. The Longhorns are currently the #1 seed in their regional tournament and will be playing at home in Austin, Texas. If they can win their Regional tournament, they will advance to a Super Regional where they will play one of the other 15 Regional winners. If they can win their Super Regional they will then advance to Omaha for the College World Series

The 2017 Texas baseball National Championships will be held in Waco, Texas from May 31- June 4. A total of eight teams will be competing in the double elimination tournament.

Ryan Hollins- relief pitcher for the Detroit Tigers
Hollins was a key player out of the Longhorns bullpen in 2005. In his three years at Texas, he compiled a 14-2 record with 15 saves and a 2.13 ERA. He was drafted by the Tigers in the 2006 MLB Draft and made his Major League debut with them in 2010. He has also pitched for the Boston Red Sox Cleveland Indians Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers He is currently back with the Tigers.

Taylor Teagarden- catcher for the Hanshin Tigers
Teagarden was one of the best defensive catchers in college baseball during his time at Texas. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 2005 MLB draft and made his Major League debut with them in 2009. He has also played for the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox He is currently playing in Japan for the Hanshin Tigers.

Jordan Pacheco- infielder for Reno Aces
Pacheco was a versatile infielder for Texas during their 2005 championship season. He played all over the infield and even pitched 10 innings that year. He was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009 and made his Major League debut with them in 2012. He has also played for the Colorado Rockies and Chicago White Sox He is currently playing for the Reno Aces which is the Diamondbacks’ Triple-A affiliate

This year, the University of Texas baseball team worked their way through an incredibly tough regional and Super Regional tournament to make it to Omaha, Nebraska for the College World Series They were one of only eight teams remaining in the nation vying for a National Championship

The University of Texas has a long and storied history in college baseball They have won five National Championships and have been to Omaha nineteen times. The fans expect their team to win every year, and this year was no different.

As the Texas Longhorns took the field for their first game in Omaha, they were met with a sea of orange-clad fans who had made the trip from Austin to support their team. The fans were confident that their Longhorns would bring home another National Championship trophy.

The Longhorns did not disappoint their fans, as they won four straight games in Omaha to become National Champions once again. The scenes of joy and celebration among the Texas fans will be remembered by all who witnessed them. It was truly a magical week for everyone involved.
