High School Career
In his freshman and sophomore years of High School Ali played for Akron Public Schools. He then transferred to Butler high school prior to his junior year. As a junior, he helped lead the team to a 28-1 record, the No. 1 ranking in the state, and the City League Championship game As a senior, he averaged 19.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game was named first team All-City League, and was an honorable mention All-Ohio selection.

His minutes have also been inconsistent, as he’s played fewer than 20 minutes in eight of Akron’s 23 games this season.
Lima was a highly touted recruit when he signed with Butler in 2018, but he only played in four games for the Bulldogs before transferring to Akron. He was expected to be a key piece for the Zips this season, but he hasn’t lived up to the hype.
