Introduction to Anne Arundel County Basketball

Anne Arundel County Basketball is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth basketball organization based in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. We are dedicated to providing an enjoyable and rewarding Basketball Experience for every player and their families.

We offer recreational and competitive basketball programs for Boys and Girls in grades 3-12. Our recreational leagues are a great way for kids to have fun and stay active while our competitive teams provide a more challenging environment for those players who are looking to take their game to the next level.

We also offer Training Programs for both players and coaches as well as opportunities to volunteer with our organization.

The History of Anne Arundel County Basketball

The Anne Arundel Basketball Program is designed to provide a positive environment where participants can learn the fundamentals of basketball and develop physical, mental and social skills. The Basketball Program is offered to boys and girls in grades 3-8. The season runs from November through February. Practices are held two times per week with games on Saturdays.

Anne Arundel County has a rich tradition in basketball. Some of the county’s all-time greats played High School basketball in Anne Arundel County, including Lefty Driesell, who coached at Davidson, Maryland, and James Madison Johnny Rhodes, who played at Maryland; Reggie Lewis who played at Northeastern; Rod Graves, who played at Notre Dame and Adrian Dantley, who played at Notre Dame and was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame

The Anne Arundel County Basketball League

The Anne Arundel County Basketball League is designed to help children develop the necessary skills to play competitive basketball in an organized setting while also having fun. The league is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8 who attend public or private schools in Anne Arundel County.

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Association

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Association (AACBA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides an opportunity for the youth of Anne Arundel County, Maryland to participate in organized basketball. The AACBA is run by volunteers who give their time and effort to provide a quality Basketball Experience for the children in our programs.

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Tournament

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Tournament is a county-wide tournament for basketball teams in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is open to all Anne Arundel County public, private, and parochial schools. The tournament is held every year in March.

All teams that wish to participate in the tournament must submit a team entry form and fee to the Tournament Director by the deadline date. If a team has more than one team entered in the same division, only the first team entered will be accepted and placed in the bracket. The other teams will be placed on a waiting list in the order that their entry form and fee were received. If any spaces become available in the bracket, teams on the waiting list will be notified and given the opportunity to join the tournament.

Thefirst round of the tournament will begin on Monday of the week of Spring break. All games will be played at sites determined by the Tournament Committee. Each team is guaranteed to play two games. The semifinal and final games will be played on Saturday at a site to be determined by the Tournament Committee.

Tournament brackets will be released no later than 5:00pm on Friday preceding Spring break. They will be posted on the county website and each schools athletics website.

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Court

The Anne Arundel County basketball court is a local basketball court that is available for use by the public. The court is located at 1110 Baltimore Boulevard in Severn, MD. The court is available for use by teams or individuals.

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Schedule

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Schedule is set for the 2017-2018 season The team will play a total of 26 games, 13 of which will be at home. The first game is scheduled for November 17th against Severna Park high school

The Anne Arundel County Basketball Playoffs

The Anne Arundel County basketball playoffs are set to begin this week. Here is some important information for parents and fans:

-The first round of the playoffs will be held on Wednesday, March 6th.

-The second round will be held on Saturday, March 9th.

-The semifinals will be held on Tuesday, March 12th.

-The finals will be held on Friday, March 15th.

In order to play basketball each team must have:

-A minimum of five players
