It’s been five years since minor league baseball left Battle Creek, Mich., but the city’s team is back and eager to regain its place in the hearts of local fans.

The Battle Creek Bombers spent last season- their first in the city since 2014- reestablishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Northwoods League The team went 35-41, good for fourth place in the league’s South Division, and made the playoffs for the first time since 2013.

This season, the Bombers are looking to build on that success on and off the field. The team has already begun to connect with the community, hosting events such as a free pizza party for kids at a local library and a canned food drive at a local grocery store.

On the field, the Bombers have brought in some new talent, including pitcher Cole Gnetz, who was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2018. Gnetz is one of several prospects who will be looking to make an impact for the Bombers this season.

With a mix of old and new, familiar and unfamiliar, Battle Creek Baseball is back and better than ever.
