The Belmont Hill Basketball Program began in the early 1900s, and the school has been competitive from the start. The team won its first League Championship in 1916, and has won numerous championships since then. In recent years Belmont Hill has been especially successful, winning four straight league titles from 2013 to 2016. The team is currently coached by Jason Tauriello, who played basketball at Belmont Hill himself.

The Belmont Hill Basketball Program today is in excellent shape. The varsity team is coming off a very successful 20-5 season in which they finished second in the Independent School League (ISL) behind only eventual National Champion St. Mark’s. The Junior varsity and freshman teams also had very successful seasons, with the JV team going undefeated in league play and the freshman team winning its first ever ISL championship. With a strong core of returning players, Belmont Hill is poised to have another great season next year.

The Belmont Hill School Athletic Complex also includes an outdoor track, turfed field hockey/lacrosse field, and four tennis courts.
