Conclusion
The season may have just started, but the Boyle County Baseball Team is already making waves. With a new head coach and a revamped roster, the team is off to a hot start and looks poised to make a run at the state championship
This year’s team is a far cry from the squad that finished last in their conference just two years ago. Under the guidance of new Head Coach John Calipari the team has turned things around in a big way.
The biggest change for the team has been on the offensive end of the ball. In just two short years, the team has gone from being one of the worst offensive teams in the state to one of the best. Led by sluggers like Jake Locker and Cooper Maier, the team is averaging over eight runs per game.
The pitching staff has also been much improved this season. The team ERA is down nearly two runs from last year, and they have already recorded four shutouts. With a talented group of pitchers like Justin Watts and Luke Heyer leading the way, the team looks poised to make a deep run in the playoffs.
So far, everything is coming up roses for Coach Cal and his squad. With so much talent on both sides of the ball, it’s hard to imagine this team not being in contention for a state title come June.
