The Rush joined the USHL as an expansion team in the 2013-14 season. In their first season, the Rush went 22-29-5 and finished in 7th place in the Eastern Conference The following season, the Rush improved to 33-19-4 and finished in 3rd place in the conference. In the 2015 playoffs, the Rush defeated the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the first round before losing to the eventual USHL champions, the Sioux Falls Stampede, in the conference semifinals.
The 2016-17 season was another successful one for the Rush as they went 32-19-5 and finished 3rd in the conference once again. In the playoffs, they defeated Dubuque in the first round before losing to eventual USHL champions Waterloo Black Hawks in the conference semifinals.
The 2017-18 Season was another successful one for Charlotte as they posted a 34-17-7 record and finished 2nd in both standing points (75) and goals scored (211). Despite their success during regulation time, they lost their first Playoff Game against fellow southeastern rivals Nashville Junior Predators.
