The history of Churchill baseball
Churchill High School in Livonia, Michigan has a long and storied history in baseball. The school has been represented in the State Tournament 27 times, winning it all on 10 occasions. Churchill has produced 15 Major League Baseball players, including All-Stars Kirk Gibson and Chris Sabo The Baseball Program has also been a launching pad for numerous successful college and professional coaches, including former MLB manager Jim Leyland.

The team is coached by Mike Ziegelmeyer, who has been with the team for over 20 years. Coach Ziegelmeyer has helped the team to develop a strong tradition of success. The team’s primary focus is on player development and winning championships.
The Churchill Baseball Program has produced many successful Major League Baseball players, including All-Stars Joc Pederson and Matt Kemp. The program has also sent numerous players to Division I colleges and universities.

The future of Churchill baseball
Looking to the future, the Bulldogs hope to continue their tradition of success on the diamond. Under the leadership of Head Coach Mike Zoccolillo, the team has set its sights on winning a state championship The Bulldogs return a core group of players from last year’s team that made it to the state semifinals, so they will be in contention for a title once again in 2020.
