The Coachella Valley Heat Wave is a 3-day Basketball Tournament that takes place in the heart of the Coachella Valley.

The Coachella Valley Heat Wave Basketball Tournament is an annual event that takes place in Indio, California. The tournament features some of the best High School basketball teams from around the country and is one of the most prestigious events in the sport. The event is held over three days and features a round-robin style format with each team playing four games. The games are played at various venues around the Coachella Valley and are broadcast on ESPN.

Tournament history
The Coachella Valley Heat Wave Basketball Tournament is a high school Basketball Tournament that began in 2001. It is held annually in late December at William Hart high school in Newhall, California. The tournament features some of the top high school teams from across the nation and has been televised on ESPN.

The Coachella Valley Heat Wave Basketball Tournament will take place on May 16-17 at La Quinta high school The following teams have been confirmed to participate:

-Coachella Valley High School
-La Quinta High School
Tournament format
The 10th annual Coachella Valley Heat Wave Basketball Tournament will tip off Saturday, August 12 and run through Sunday, August 20 at various high school gyms in the Coachella Valley. The tournament is open to Boys and Girls in grades 3-8.
There are four divisions:
-Boys 3rd & 4th Grade
-Boys 5th & 6th Grade
-Boys 7th & 8th Grade
-Girls 3rd-8th Grade

Tournament prize
The winner of the tournament will receive a $500 prize.
Tournament rules
Each team is guaranteed three games. The games will be played on full sized courts with a running clock The clock will only stop in the last two minutes of the game if the Point Differential is under 7 points. Each team will have 1 timeout per half. The team fouling
out of the game will still lose, even if they are ahead on points. All other standard basketball rules apply, including jump balls and double dribbles.
Tournament registration
The annual Coachella Valley Heat Wave Basketball Tournament is back and registration is now open! This year’s event will take place from July 6-9 at the Rancho Mirage High School gym. The tournament is open to all boys and girls in grades 3-12.
There will be four divisions this year: 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, 7th/8th grade, and high school Each division will be double elimination. The cost to register is $200 per team.
