Robinson eventually attended Princeton University on an academic scholarship, where he played basketball for the Tigers.
After graduating from Princeton in 1984, Robinson began his Professional Basketball career with the Albany Patroons of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He also played for several other teams in the CBA and overseas before retiring from playing in 1992.
Robinson began his coaching career as an assistant at Northwestern University in 1993. He then served as head coach of Brown University from 2006 to 2008. In 2009, he became Head Coach of Oregon State University where he led the Beavers to a school-record 27 wins in his first season. Robinson was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year that same season. He coached at Oregon State until 2014, when he was hired by the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks
His time with the Portland Trail Blazers
Craig Robinson played for the Portland Trail Blazers from 1971 to 1973. He was traded to the Baltimore Bullets in 1973, but he only played nine games with them before he was traded back to the Trail Blazers He played with the Trail Blazers until he was traded to the Phoenix Suns in 1975. He played with the Suns for two seasons before he was traded back to the Trail Blazers in 1977. Robinson retired from playing basketball in 1981.
