The Detroit CYO Basketball is a Catholic Youth organization that provides opportunities for young people to compete in basketball at the recreational and competitive levels. The program is open to Boys and Girls in grades 3-8.

There are two seasons: the Fall season runs from September to November, and the Spring season runs from April to June. There are no tryouts for the Detroit CYO basketball all participants will be placed on a team.

Each team will have 9-12 players, and each team will play approximately 10 games per season. The teams will be divided into divisions based on skill level, so that all teams will be competitive.

The Detroit CYO Basketball stresses sportsmanship and fair play. All players, coaches, and parents are expected to uphold these values.

-All players must participate in at least two quarters of each game.
-Each team is allowed one 30 second timeout per half. There is no carryover of unused timeouts from one half to the next.
--Overtime periods will be three minutes long with a running clock except for the last minute of play when the clock will stop on all dead balls. Each team is allowed one 30 second timeout per overtime period
