Boys’ Basketball Rankings
1. Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School (3-0) – knocked off defending WPIAL and PIAA Class 4A champion New Castle
2. Penn Hills (4-0) – routed No. 5 Peters Township
3. Bethlehem Catholic (4-0) – coming off a 35-point victory over then No. 8 East Stroudsburg South
4. Pine-Richland (2-1) – the Rams picked up two big nonconference wins last week, defeating Bethel Park and McKeesport

District 3 Piaa Basketball
District 3 Piaa Basketball rankings have been announced. The top ranked team in the district is Harrisburg High School followed by Central Dauphin East high school in second place. Williamsport Area high school rounds out the top three, in third place.

The PIAA Basketball rankings are used to determine which teams advance to the PIAA basketball playoffs The PIAA basketball playoffs are single-Nation Tournaments with the winners advancing to the next round until only one team remains, which is declared the state champion.

Piaa Basketball Playoffs
The PIAA has released the official championship Basketball Brackets for the upcoming district playoffs. District 3 will have a total of four teams competing in the playoffs this year, with two teams from each division. The top seed in each division will receive a bye in the first round.
Piaa Basketball Results
The PIAA Basketball Rankings are out and District 3 is well represented.
In the girls’ rankings, Lampeter-Strasburg is ranked No. 1 in Class 5A, while York Catholic is No. 1 in Class 3A. In the boys’ rankings, Lebanon Catholic is No. 1 in Class 1A and Trinity is No. 3 in Class 5A.
Piaa Basketball News
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association released its District basketball rankings for the upcoming 2019-20 season on Tuesday.
In Class 6A, District 3, Harrisburg is ranked No. 1, followed by William Penn at No. 2, Chambersburg at No. 3 and Cumberland Valley at No. 4. In Class 5A, Dallastown is ranked No. 1, followed by York High at No. 2 and Red Lion at No. 3.
The PIAA will release its official State basketball rankings on Feb. 11. The State Tournament is scheduled to begin on March 3.
