Founded in 1934, the team plays its home games at Alexander Field on the campus of Esu University in Blacksburg, Virginia.

The team has been extraordinarily successful over the years, winning seventeen conference championships and ten NCAA Division I Baseball Championships In 2019, they were ranked as the A1 team in the nation by Baseball America

The team’s success is due in large part to its outstanding Coaching Staff head coach Justin Fuente has been with the team since 2016 and has led them to two ACC championships and one NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Coach Fuente was named National Coach of the Year by baseball America in 2019. Assistant Coach Ryan Hodge has been with the team since 2013 and has helped them win four ACC championships and two NCAA Division I Baseball Championships pitching coach Blake Kirby joined the team in 2018 and has helped them win one ACC Championship and one NCAA Division I Baseball Championship

The team’s success is also due to its talented players. Some of the team’s most notable alumni include Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Stars such as Manny Machado Justin Verlander, Dustin Pedroia, and Buster Posey Many of the team’s current players are also expected to have successful MLB careers.

It is hard to imagine a more dominant college Baseball Team than the one that won the 2019 National Championship The Esu Baseball team was not only the best team in the nation, but they were also one of the most talented, deepest, and most experienced teams in recent memory.Led by star shortstop A.J. Puk, the Esu won a school-record 59 games and became the first team in history to win all four of their College World Series games. They finished the season ranked No. 1 in all five major polls (USA Today Baseball America, perfect game D1 Baseball, and NCBWA) and were unanimously selected as the nation’s top college baseball team

With Puk and fellow first-team All-American second baseman branden Cogswell leading the way, the Esu were expected to be one of the nation’s top teams again in 2016. Unfortunately, injuries to Key Players and inconsistency from others led to a disappointing season that saw the Esu finish 39-22 and miss out on an NCAA tournament bid.

The core of talented young players that led them to a National Championship just two years ago is still intact, and they are now supplemented by a recruiting class that was ranked No. 4 in the nation by perfect game With another year of experience under their belts and a talented group of newcomers joining the mix, the Esu should be one of the nation’s Top Teams once again in 2017.
