Etsu Baseball is a team of American college baseball athletes who compete in the NCAA Division I. The team is a member of the Southern Conference They play their home games at Thomas Stadium, on the campus of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. The team is currently coached by Tony Skole.
The program began in 1920, and has been playing Division I Baseball since 1984. The Bucs have appeared in three NCAA Tournaments: in 1985, 1987 and 1988. They have also appeared in four Southern Conference baseball tournaments winning the event in 1985 and 1988.
The Etsu baseball team has had 27 Major League Baseball Draft selections since the draft began in 1965.

After a successful 2019 season in which the team went to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history, the team is looking to make an even deeper run in 2020. Here is a comprehensive guide to all of the Etsu Baseball news you need to know heading into the new season.
Etsu baseball is set to open their 2020 campaign on February 14th against Wright State The team will then travel to Greenville, NC to take on East Carolina in a three-game series The Pirates will be a tough test for the Bucs, as they went 43-19 last season and made it to the NCAA Tournament themselves.
After their opening weekend, Etsu will have a quick turn-around as they head to Johnson City to take on Appalachian State in a mid-week game on February 19th. The Mountaineers went 30-28 last year and are always a tough out at home.
Etsu will then welcome Liberty and Gardner Webb to Johnson City for a three-game weekend series. Liberty went 25-32 last year but are always a dangerous team, while Gardner Webb finished 23-31 in 2019.
The Bucs will hit the road again the following week, as they travel to Boone, NC to take on conference foe Appalachian State The Mountaineers will be looking for revenge after losing two out of three games to Etsu last season.
Etsu will then have another quick turn-around, as they host Kennesaw State for a mid-week game on March 3rd before welcoming UNC Asheville for a three-game weekend series. Kennesaw State went 30-27 last season while UNC Asheville finished 28-29 in 2019.
The Bucs will close out their non-Conference Schedule with a trip to Atlanta, GA to take on Georgia State The Panthers went 31-26 last year and made it to the NCAA tournament as well.

Etsu Baseball is back for their 2019 season! Here are some stats and recaps from their most recent games:
In their first game against USC Upstate Etsu got off to a hot start offensively, putting up 5 runs in the first 3 innings. However, they couldn’t hold on to the lead and ended up losing 7-5.
In their second game, Etsu was again able to put up 5 runs, this time in the first 4 innings. This time, they were able to hold on to their lead and won the game 5-2.
It was a different story in their third game against Furman. Etsu got off to a slow start and found themselves down 4-0 after 3 innings. They were able to put up 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th, but it wasn’t enough and they lost 4-2.

Etsu baseball playoffs are an annual event that takes place during the spring baseball season The playoffs are a single-elimination tournament that features the top eight teams from the regular season The teams are seeded based on their Regular Season record, with the team with the best record receiving the #1 seed.
The first round of the playoffs is a best-of-three series, with all games played at a neutral site. The second round is a best-of-five series, and the Championship Series is a best-of-seven series. All games in the second round and beyond are played at the home ballpark of the higher seed.
