The history of Explorers Baseball
Explorers Baseball is a minor League Baseball team that plays in the Pacific Coast League (PCL). The team is based in Sacramento, California, and has been in existence since 1903. The Explorers are the oldest continuously operating professional baseball team in Sacramento.
The team was founded in 1903 as the Sacramento Sires. The Sires were one of the original eight charter member teams of the California League, which began play that year. The Sires played their home games at Edgewater Park, located on the American River just north of downtown Sacramento. In their inaugural season, the Sires finished with a record of 55-79, good for sixth place in the eight-team league.

If you would like to become an Explorer, please follow these steps:
1. Print and fill out the [registration form](https://explorersbaseball.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/2020-Registration-Form1.pdf).
2. Include a check or money order for the registration fee (made out to “Explorers Baseball”).
