Introduction

In high school basketball, as in any sport, one of the most hotly contested topics is ranking the teams. In Florida, there are a number of ways to do this. The Florida high school Athletic Association (FHSAA) recognizes eight classifications of schools based on enrollment, and produces a statewide ranking of teams in each classification at the conclusion of the regular season In addition, numerous media outlets produce their own rankings of teams throughout the state.
