Introduction

The Greater Orlando baseball league (GOBL) is a non-profit adult Baseball League located in Central Florida. The league was founded in 2006 with 6 teams and has grown to 16 teams in 2016. The league is open to all players 18 years of age or older.

The league’s history

The Greater Orlando Baseball League was founded in 1998 and is one of the Premier Baseball leagues in Central Florida. The league is made up of eight teams that play each other in a round-robin format. Each team plays every other team four times during the regular season with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs.

The league has seen many Great players come through its ranks over the years, including future Major League Baseball stars such as Eric Young Jr. and Joc Pederson. Many of the league’s players have gone on to play Collegiate Baseball and some have even been drafted by professional teams.

The Greater Orlando Baseball League (GOBL) is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for young men, ages 13-18, to play baseball in a positive and encouraging environment. The GOBL has been in existence since 2012 and is made up of players from all over Central Florida.

The GOBL is committed to promoting the Game of Baseball developed character in young men, and instilling life-long values such as teamwork, responsibility, and sportsmanship. The league provides a platform for players to showcase their talents and for families to enjoy the game of baseball.

The games

The games are the heart of the Greater Orlando baseball league Each game gives players a chance to improve their skills and play with friends in a fun and competitive atmosphere. The league offers a variety of games, from single games to double-headers, to accommodate all different types of schedules.

The fans

Brevard County Manatees: The Brevard County Manatees play their home games at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, FL. The stadium has a capacity of 8,100 people.

Daytona Cubs: The Daytona Cubs play their Home Games at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach FL. The stadium has a capacity of 5,300 people.

The media

In order to be considered for the playoffs, a team must have played a minimum of 60 percent of its Regular Season games. If a team fails to meet this criteria, it will be automatically eliminated from playoff contention.

The future

The future of the Greater Orlando baseball league looks to be very promising. With two new teams joining the league next year, and a potential third team in the works, the league looks to be growing at a steady pace.

With the increased popularity of baseball in recent years especially amongst young people the league is confident that it will continue to grow and thrive in the years to come.
