Hofstra Baseball is back for the 2019 season!

The Hofstra baseball team is back and ready to take on the 2019 season! The team is looking to build on their success from last year, when they won the Colonial Athletic Association Championship and made an appearance in the NCAA tournament

This year’s team is led by senior captain Tommy McCarthy, who was named a Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball News. McCarthy is joined by fellow seniors Mikey Franza and Chrisquinaglia, who provide experience and leadership for the young team.

The Pride have high hopes for the 2019 season and are looking to make another run at a CAA title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament

Hofstra Baseball is BACK and looking better than ever! After a disappointing end to last season, the team is ready to make a run at the conference title With a more experienced squad and some key new additions, the Pride is poised for a successful 2018 campaign.

Coach Joe Hindy has high hopes for his team this year, and with good reason. The pitching staff is led by senior ace John Rooney, who is coming off a strong summer in the Cape Cod League. Rooney will be flanked by a solid group of starters that includes junior left-handerTommy Kaye and sophomore right-handers Luke Tristen and Josh369 Stenger. The bullpen features a mix of experienced arms and young talent, led by closer Mikey Ferrantelli.

The offense will be anchored by senior first baseman Chris Ciocia, who was recently named to the Preseason All-Conference team. Ciocia will be flanked by a group of talented outfielders that includes junior Andre Baldelli and sophomores Jared Brownstein and Jack Gethings. The infield features a mix of veterans and newcomers, including junior second baseman Zachary Pena and freshman third baseman Sean O’Hara.

With a strong core of returnees and some key new additions, Hofstra baseball is primed for a successful 2018 season. Be sure to catch the Pride in action this spring!

The Hofstra Baseball Team is off to a great start this season, and a big part of that success has been the performance of the pitching staff. Nick Fanti has been the ace of the staff, posting a 4-0 record with a 0.69 ERA in five starts. He’s been backed up by a deep and talented group of pitchers, including sophomore Matt Carasiti (3-0, 1.93 ERA) and junior Cody Heisler (1-0, 0.00 ERA).

The pitching staff has been so good that the Pride have won four games when their opponents have scored first. That’s a testament to the team’s ability to keep opponents off the scoreboard, and it’s something that they’ll need to continue doing if they want to keep winning games

The team looks to improve on those numbers this season with a more experienced squad. The team is led by senior captain, Ryan Russo, who is coming off of a great 2018 campaign where he hit .351 with four home runs and 36 RBIs. Russo will look to build on that success this season and help lead Hofstra to a conference championship
